Riiiiight- Scotty

"Scotty, if one more word escapes those Scotish lips of yours, I am going to throw this pipe piece at you and I won't regret it."

"Oh, come on, lassie! I'm just having a wee bit of fun!"

You roll your eyes and turn away from the exhaust port you were fixing, placing a hand on your hip as you used the other one to point the pipe piece at him. "And you think it's funny to start joking about you putting the ship back the wrong way? How do you think Commander Spock would feel about his bedroom door to suddenly open a ship wide comm link when he opens it? Or would the Captain appreciate throwing the ship into warp every time he flushed his toilet? And I can't imagine Lieutenant Uhura liking the idea of her room lights suddenly beaming her to various parts of the ship." You just stared at him as he sat next to Keenser on one of the water filter pipes.

Scotty just shrugged. "Perhaps not. But I know you would pay good money to see the good old doctor get scared out of his scrubs when he comes out of the shower one day smelling like he slept at a bar for three days straight. I always tell him, with the amount he drinks, he might as well wash in it." He stretched then jumped down nimbly, surprising considering his seniority of the crew.

You couldn't help but snort and smile a bit at his last idea, though. Despite his antics, you just couldn't get enough of the red-shirted man. You turned back to your work, finishing up a few checks before you turned back to Scotty, walking up next to him as he fiddled with a circuit board. You leaned in close to him, pointing at nothing in particular. You made sure to breathy whisper.

"I think you are supposed to connect this part."

Scotty let out a shout of surprise, jumping back, tripping over tools on the ground causing him to reach out and grab onto something. That something turned out to be your body, pulling you to him as you both fell to the ground, letting out a collective grunt. You blinked and worked at getting your breath back as you leaned up on his chest. You heard him chuckle so you looked down, almost regretting it the moment you did.

You never really saw him as attractive until that very moment. You did your best to not let your eyes wander over his smiling face but your closeness made it near impossible. Scotty let his laughing die down but his smile stayed. You felt his hands reach up and rest on your sides. You couldn't help but blush at his touch.

"Are you fallin' for me, lassie?" Scotty winked at you, rubbing his hands up and down your sides.

You squirmed and turned away so he wouldn't see how he affected you. You feigned frustration as you pushed his arms off you to get up, crossing your arms over your chest. "Ooohhhohho! You wish, Scotsman." You scoffed at him then stomped off to turn in a report. What a ridiculous idea, falling for the chief engineer and his dumb, funny accent, his wide happy eyes and his stupid wide shoulders.

You groaned as you shook your head, trying to get a certain loud Scottish man out of your head, again. You tried to go back to work for the rest of the day but you couldn't be in the same room as him, let alone the same floor without your face turning as red as your dress.

Sad thing is, Scotty noticed. So that meant hours of teasing and side comments that didn't lessen your blush. At one point you were about ready to just lay your hands on a hot pipe so you would be sent to sick bay instead of listening to Scotty's statements and feeling them slowly come true.

You were turning a corner when you bumped into him, doing your best to not take notice of how good he smelled. Instead, you looked up at him and scrunched your face in frustration.

"Oi! Sorry lass!" Scotty exclaimed as he took half a step back, resting his hands on your shoulders. He got a good look at your face and his eyebrows rose. "Are you alright (Y/n)?"

You blinked at his use of your name and the sincerity in his voice. Your plan to shut him up left your thoughts as you slowly closed your eyes and let out a huff of breath. Your shoulders slumped and you looked to the ground, your hair falling slightly in front of your face. "Just...don't- never mind."

Scotty scoffed then let out a chuckle as he raised your face gently with his finger under your chin. "So have you come to terms with your feelings then?"

You looked into his eyes and let a small smile pull your your lips. "I have no idea what you are talking about. You are obnoxious and annoying and I can't stand you." You squared your shoulders but couldn't keep eye contact.

You felt him start to laugh as he moved his hand from your chin to your cheek. "Right. And Spock and I are brothers."

That made you laugh and you looked at him smiling. "Now that I would love to see proof of."

Scotty smiled, this thumb stroking your cheek lightly.

You swallowed then looked down again. "Look, in sorry for being a pain. I don't exactly know what started it all," you then looked up at him, his eyes watching your face, "and I'm not sure if I want it to end."

"I will have to fine tune my flirting then." He winked, causing you to laugh again.

You got up on your tip toes and kissed his cheek softly. He moved his hands then folded you into his arms, holding you close. You smiled and rested your head against him as you wrapped your own arms around him.

You would have stayed there forever, Scotty wouldn't have complained but when you were interrupted by a curtain pointy-eared Vulcan strode around the same corner. But the moment you saw him, you couldn't help but let out a laugh into Scotty's chest. At that, Scotty turned around and held you in a side hug.

"Oh! Commander! Fancy seeing you here!"

You snorted and leaned against him, resting your head on his shoulder. Spock paused in his walking as he sized the two of you up. He held his hands behind his back, nodding to you then turned to Scotty.

"Pardon me, Mr. Scott. The captain wishes to see the senior officers on the Bridge."

"Thank you Mr. Spock, I'll be up there in just a moment."

Spock raised a brow as he looked between you and the Scotsman. Then with a small not he was gone.

You snickered as you turned to Scotty. He leaned down and kissed your forehead. "Promise me we will continue," he pointed between the two of you and smiled, "this as soon as I get back."

You smiled and nodded, folding your arms as you nodded back in the direction Spock left. "Now go on, your "brother" is waiting."

Scotty smiled and kissed your cheek before he sprinted off after Spock, his jovial laugh audible from where you stood. You smiled and shook your head as you walked off with a bit more pep in your step.
