"The 7 Wonders?" I arched a brow in awe, although Lakshmi thought I was 'confused' as to what the 7 Wonders were.

She took this time to explain what they were while I zoned out.   Lakshmi and I were out in the woods with Nymeria, practicing extending out my immunity so that I could use it to protect Sage. Sage left briefly to change her clothes after the quickie we had that turned out a bit messy than expected. She told me to go ahead and meet up with Lakshmi while she teleported herself back to her mansion to get changed.

"It's hard to gain control over at the first time, but once you practice a lot it'll be a piece of cake!" Lakshmi explained as we walked further into the forest.

"What exactly is it though? Like some sort of mental shield?" I asked, tucking my hands into my jean pockets as Nymeria bounded along with us.

"Not entirely mental, it protects your whole body of course but it is mainly mental.  That's why it's really hard to extend it and protect someone else, because it mainly comes from your subconscious desire to protect yourself above all else," she said, before we reached a large empty space. Nymeria ran towards the middle excitedly, yapping happily as she jumped around. She seemed a bit hyper today.

"So I have to just let go of that desire and then I'll be able to protect whomever I want?" I questioned with an arch of my brow, digging my hands into my pockets as I towered over the Indian teenage girl.

"So how does it work? Do I just let go of the desire and then extend the shield and it what? Creates a force field or something?"

"You're close. The shield actually wraps around the targets like plastic, or it turns into a giant dome. While you main shield is pushed out to protect others, a secondary shield is formed to protect yourself at the same time," Lakshmi continued to explain in detail as I listened and absorbed the information.

We spent the next half an hour practicing, her teaching me how to let go of that subconscious desire to protect myself, and just replace it with the desire to protect Sage. It was really tricky, especially getting the shield to extend. It was like an elastic recoil. But as the hour passed by, I quickly became better at it. As my desire to protect Sage was incredibly strong, it overpowered my subconscious desire to protect myself quite easily, giving me easy access to control and manipulate the shield however I wanted.  I worked on getting the shield to protect Nymeria while Lakshmi would do little tests to see if it worked gradually building it up. She was gifted with the abilities of telepathy, mind control, and pyrokinesis. She first worked on trying to dig into Nymeria's mind and control her, but my shield was strong enough to block her out.

"Tell me about Sage, as a teacher in the academy," I told Lakshmi as we sat down to take a break. A smile broke out on her face when I spoke my words.
