"What was it like for the both of you after the big breakup?"

"Well me personally, I just did me. I lived my life like I did before without him, going to work, raising my child on the low and doing adult things. Since yes, I was officially an adult now"
--Diya

"And for me,....it was pretty much a slap in the face. I focused on myself too but you know men tend to get lonely more so often then women. So it was a struggle to live without having a girl to my side, and thus I adopted the single bachelor life...."

:: Three Years Later! ::
(Jay's Pov)

It's been three plus years since the break up last last last May, but a lot has progressed on for me. First off, I'm getting older. I'm 21 years old now and I have a job in the old family business. As soon as I graduated, I went right in for a job to get started.

I come from a family of Gang members and thugs if you look at it. My grandfather Jamal was the leader and the start of it all. He was an ex blood from Compton but later on got booked for going crazy over the missing reports on his wife. But after he got out after like...18 years, she was found alive and well.

He still wanted to be a kingpin though, which led to him creating this organization here in the heart of Miami. The organization didn't have a name but my grandfather himself called it I. V. Y., assuming after my grandmother Ivyene. The company itself produced many and many of the drugs we see sold on the streets of Miami today. It was a drug cartel.

I was taught that my grandfather would talk to the other hoodmasters in the area to seek at gaining territory, protection, profit and of course respect. After such a deal was made, my grandfather would send those hoodmasters drugs, so that their recruits or drug dealers....could sell the product to the people. This made both parties rich and well protected, but rivalries started to form.

This was sadly the reason for my grandfather's death...15 years ago. In place of Sir Allen, he passed down the company to my father...Jacob Allen. Only because none of Sir Allen's daughters (including my mother) didn't want that big of a job. So since my dad was married to my mom and a loyal subject to the business already, he was nominated.

But sadly my dad's life was cut short on his way home one day, like we all know. So without him...that means there was no longer a leader in the organization. And I was basically too young to do such a task anyways and since my mother went completely in distress, there was no one to take over.

That's when my uncle Lamar Cole stepped up and took the organization under his wing...just in case if I got older that I would still have my father's and grandfather's legacy. That's why he came over on my 18th birthday, to ask me if I can get involved now that I'm of age.
