--------------------

Somehow, Evan had managed to fall asleep that night, trudging over to his bed in defeat as he plopped himself down onto the bed.

At first, he just stared at the ceiling, wiping any remaining tears off his face. Luckily, his face was dry, yet he still rubbed it.

Eventually, he was able to clear his head just long enough for him to succumb to sleep.

---------

When he woke up, he felt refreshed, and his confidence boost had returned. He was home, with his friends.

Craig, Jonathan, Tyler, Marcel, Brian, Brock, David, and he believed Lui was flying in today. Yet another day of questions he had to answer. And hopefully the last.

Honestly, he was feeling so relaxed compared to the night before that he didn't even notice his wings had appeared until he was downstairs with everyone staring at him once again.

"Uh, why is everyone looking at me?" Except for Craig and Jonathan, they were used to his wings already. Craig, because he was a demon, and Jonathan, well, because he had gotten scared of them too many times to count.

Craig gestured to his wings, and Evan finally understood, and they disappeared. "Oh! Sorry, I forgot." He said, walking over and grabbing an apple. He wasn't feeling hungry, but figured Craig would worry if he didn't eat something, since he always used to eat very lightly anyway.

Well, he would eat a lot, just in small increments.

"I'm never gonna get used to that." Tyler said, returning to his food.

"I'm not even used to it." Jonathan commented, also eating.

Craig shrugged. "It's not that big of a deal, there were so many wings in Hell."

"Well, Mr. Demon, they're new to us, and they're cool, so shut up." Marcel said, looking at Evan with a smile.

"They're not that cool...." Evan said quietly, biting into the apple. Great, anti-social Evan was back, just what he needed.

"That's bullshit! They are so cool! Can we see them again?" Brock was begging like a little kid, and Evan couldn't help but comply, turning around and letting them appear.

"Awesome!" Brian said, lightly running his fingers over the feathers, Evan used all his strength to not flinch away as everyone else began to inspect them.

Even Craig couldn't help but inspect them as well, it had been ages since he had seen wings, and he didn't really check them out when Evan had been breaking down in his arms last night. Even Jonathan wanted to feel them.

"These are so sick!" Tyler said as Evan chose to extend them just a bit, they were getting cramped from staying folded.

It was the knock on the door that ruined the moment.

As soon as he heard the ding, Evan jumped up in fright, causing his wings to disappear as everyone else turned their heads to the door.

"That must be Lui." Craig said, walking to the door confidently. "He only needs to ring the doorbell once."

Evan rubbed the back of his neck, letting out a sigh. "Looks like I have to explain everything again." He said with a small yawn, he didn't know when he had become so tired, must be the whole hybrid thing.
