Loving Others

Loving others.

The other day I wrote about loving yourself. So today I am writing about loving others, which is really hard sometimes.

As Christ Followers, we are called to love one another (1 John 4:11). But that can be really hard sometimes because people can be mean. It's hard to love someone if you always fight with them or argue with them. Just because it's hard, doesn't mean it's impossible. Because with God on our side, NOTHING is impossible!

The way I see it, you don't have to like them but you have to love them.

Let me explain, love and like are two TOTALLY different things.

My Mom (love you mom!) says: "I may not like you right now but I always love you."

So you mean not like what someone is doing, or agree with their opinions (we all now people who can't stop posting their opinions on Facebook).

But you have to love them.

Like means you right agree with them and like what they are doing.

Love means love them like God loves you.

Love is deeper than like.

Love is unconditional, no matter what, you always love them.

Like my Mom said, she may not like that I forgot to put up the dishes but she always loves me.

Let's love one another like God loves us! ❤️

Verses:

"My dear, dear friends, if God loved us like this, we certainly ought to love each other. No one has seen God, ever. But if we love one another, God dwells deeply within us, and his love becomes complete in us—perfect love!" 1 John 4:11

"Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other." John 13:34

"This is how we've come to understand and experience love: Christ sacrificed his life for us. This is why we ought to live sacrificially for our fellow believers, and not just be out for ourselves. If you see some brother or sister in need and have the means to do something about it but turn a cold shoulder and do nothing, what happens to God's love? It disappears. And you made it disappear." 1 John 3:16

Prayer:

Dear God,

Help me to love other like you love me. Help me to share Your Love with the world. Even though I may not like someone, help me to love them.

I thank you God for all my many blessings and for Your Son.

In Jesus's name, I pray, Amen!
