How to respond to hate.

I have writing on Wattpad for about two year and today I got my first "hater." So I decided not to let that get me down but to write a devotion about it.

How do we (Christians) respond to hate?

Respond how Jesus would. Know when to show love and when to stand up for yourself.

In this world, there will be many "haters." Just because you are a Christian, you might get hate. That's just how it is. But we can do something about it!

When someone leaves a hateful comment on Wattpad, Instagram, Facebook, or in person. The best thing to do is respond in love. Because as Christ followers, we are called to love one another. So after someone says something really hateful to you, don't respond in hate and anger. Respond in love but know when you need to stand up for yourself.

Remember: there is nothing you can say that will change their mind. As Taylor Swift says: "Haters gonna hate."

But remember: don't let people bully or abuse you. Don't be a doormat that people walk all over. Remember to always stand up for yourself.

I know it's can be confusing. But if you are confused, just think: "What would Jesus do."

Jesus NEVER let people abuse, bully, or walk all over Him. Jesus showed us to be loving and use kindness. But He always showed us to have a back bone.

In the Bible, when people were selling stuff in the temples. Jesus came in, pushed over the tables, and told them to stop. (Luke 19:45)

Jesus wasn't a push over. He DEMANDED that the people stop selling stuff in the temple.

So stand up for yourself but also show love.

Let's go show this world more of Jesus!❤️

Verses:

"When Jesus entered the temple courts, he began to drive out those who were selling. "It is written,"he said to them, " 'My house will be a house of prayer; but you have made it 'a den of robbers.'" John 19:45

"Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path." Psalm 119:105

"God says, 'When you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me." Jeremiah 29:12-13

Prayer:

Dear God,

Help me to respond like Jesus when someone says or writes something very hateful to me. Help me to know when to show love and when to stand up for myself. Help me be a light in this dark world. Help me share your word with the world. Help me to grow closer to you and be more like Jesus.

I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.

In Jesus's name, I pray, Amen!❤️
