Gabe

I know that Sam wants to know what I think happened in that alternate universe, or in a dream, or whatever. I know that it would satisfy him, but I couldn't tell him, because, though he may be satisfied just knowing what happened, it would crush him to actually know what it was that he knew. I don't think I could ever do that to him.

All the way to the ER, we made small talk and I couldn't help but be glad that he didn't ask any further questions about the whole thing, even though he desperately wanted to. I could see it in his eyes. The thirst for knowledge that I wouldn't give him, maybe ever.

However, I couldn't help but wonder what he would say if he did know what I saw, how he would react. I couldn't help but think about how he would react if he didn't care, or if he did, but he could never tell him, just in case he reacted badly.

It was a relatively quick process to get the computer, just having to scan the computer and my I.D. and be done. I sighed, thankful it didn't take too long. I don't think I would have been able to handle much more small talk between the two of us. It was driving me crazy.

Once we arrived back in class, we only had a few minutes left. Sam tried talking me through how to get a portfolio, but I was just confused. In the end, he just asked what lunch I had and told me to meet him at the doors to the cafeteria. He would show me how to do it then.

I nodded in thanks before heading to my band class, glad to finally be out of there.

"Hey," Cas called, catching up to me. "Funny, seeing you head this way," he joked.

"Ha, ha. Very funny." I rolled my eyes at him as he laughed. He nudged my shoulder as we walked towards the band classroom.

"Hey, Gabe!" A red-head bounded towards the both of us, a huge smile on her face.

"Do you know her?" Cas looked at me questioningly.

"Yeah. This is Charlie. Charlie, this is Cas."

"How did you two meet?"

"I went to Drama first. My dream, last night, really vivid, that's how I knew who Sam was," I supplied, waiting for Cas to understand that I was referring to that. "Well. I dreamed that I had Drama first hour, so I didn't realize that I didn't have it today."

"Oh. I suppose that makes sense."

"What's this about a dream?"

I opened my mouth to answer her, but the teacher walked in. He told us that today was going to be a bunch of assigning instruments to people, from the school, so we wouldn't be playing much.

I gestured for her to follow me into the back of he classroom while Cas went to go meet some new people. "Okay, so tell me about this dream."

"Please don't say that I'm weird or something. I like you, a lot, and trust you a lot, because of this dream that I have, so I'm willing to share anything with you, but please don't tell anyone else this or make fun."

"I won't. I like weird, secret stuff anyways, so shoot, tell away."

"Okay-" I took a deep breath- "I don't know where to start. I guess from the dream or whatever could work." So, I started explaining it to her. How I met Sam, the classes we had. I told her about our argument and his relationship with Jess. I told her about her idea for the play.

The entire time, she was silent, up until I mentioned the play. "Wait... really?"

"Yeah. It was a huge success too. It was amazing. Why?"

"Because that's the play I'm doing now for the school. So, maybe you saw the future."

"No. There was no JROTC. I had Drama early and there was no pen pal situation with Cas and Dean."

"Okay. So not the future. What then?"

"I don't know. But it's really weird because we did the play and then Sam was so torn up between me and Jess and I told him to be with her. I planned on leaving, but then I woke up and then there was the whole pen-pal situation and JROTC, and I am confused."

"So, maybe it wasn't a dream of the future. Maybe it was just a dream."

"Do you ever remember every single detail of your dreams?" Charlie stayed silent, proving my point. "Neither do I. Besides, it was as real as now. Like I had actually lived it."

She sat there, contemplating a moment. "What if it actually was an alternate reality? Like.. maybe someone out there wants to prove to you that something is real, that it should happen, but it got messed up the first time, so they had to restart. If this were the case, then the last reality wouldn't have been the original one, it just would have been the first alternate."

"You are nine kinds of crazy Charlie, but I like that," I chuckled, punching her arm slightly which caused her to giggle.

"No, but seriously. What if that could be happening?"

"What could anyone possibly want to prove to me, to show me that it should be that way?"

"I don't know, but that would be kind of cool, even if it was cruel. You have to admit," Charlie stated, a large smile on her face. She punched my arm again, lightly, as the bell rang for class to end.

"I'll see you later, Charlie. Thanks for listening."

"Of course. See ya, Gabe."

NOTE: I am sorry that this chapter is short. I'm out of ideas for this right now but I will try and come up with some better ones soon. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy. -Captain.
