One month later. . .

Christmas.

The one day each year it's acceptable to eat gingerbread men and wear stupid Santa onesies with fuzzy red and green socks.

Well that's what Caleb and I do anyway.

There's something special about Christmas. Something about the atmosphere and the energy.

When I was younger, Caleb and I would be up at the crack of dawn where we'd run into our parents' room and disrupt their once peaceful sleep by jumping on them.

After that, we'd all cuddle in bed and talk, take guesses about who got more presents or what we got, though our parents always made sure the presents were equal, so no one got annoyed, cough cough Caleb.

Regardless of the fact its five years later. . I think. And I'm seventeen, almost eighteen now, I still feel the same excitement. Yeah, it's slightly dulled because my parents are no longer here, but I have Caleb. He's my family.

He's all I need. Family doesn't need to be several people, it doesn't even need to be blood related, if they're there for you, if they love you, then that's the closest family you'll ever have.

Now, it is quite early. It's about six o'clock and Caleb is surprisingly, still fast asleep which is great because I've got to go pick up his present before he wakes up.

He won't expect it, damn, I didn't even expect it, but I think-I hope he'll love it.

I got out of my bed excitedly, the permanent smile which has been apparent since the moment I woke up, not leaving my face as I scoured my room in search of clothes.
