Chapter Four

"Where have you been?! I've been so worried?! You have to tell me where you are going next time?!" My mother said to me, hugging me tightly.

 I wrapped my arms around her, "Mom, I was just at the coffee shop down the street. It's okay, he's locked up. You shouldn't be stressing yourself out." I assured her.

"Yeah, I know, but I can't help but worry. Even when we are far away, he'll still find us, somehow," she says, and I release her from my grasp. 

"Don't say that, we are well hidden, he won't find us. Anyway.." I distract her from that topic. It's a bit of a touchy subject for the two of us.

I don't want to talk about this anymore."Mom, I made a friend today!" I tell her excitedly. "What? Honey that's great!! I would love to meet her someday," she says. "It's not a her, it's a him, his name is Shawn."     

"Ooh a boy?" She asks teasingly, to which I lightly shove her playfully. "Not like that mom!" To which she asks, "Okay, but is he cute?" Bruh. "Mommm seriously stop." I say to be, going up to my room. I hear laughter from her. 

Me and mom always had this close bond with one another, since we went through what happened together. My phone vibrated in my pocket. 

Shawn: Hello
Serenity: Um hi
Why are you texting me, 
we literally just met a few minutes ago

Shawn: Yeah I know
I'm bored

Serenity: Same

I smiled and put my phone down on the nightstand, charging it. I closed my eyes and lay on the bed, only thinking about 1 thing. Him. 

I went to sleep with those chocolate brown eyes on my mind and a smile on my face, something that hasn't happened for a long time.
