I reach the new area in a matter of seconds. I stopped in an alley and walk out into the crowded street, looking around. I look into different shops, then for a quick rest break, I stop at a coffee shop. I order a coffee and sit alone at a booth.
It was a small, quiet coffee shop, with dull colours. Not worth remembering.
Suddenly the door opens, and two men stepped inside. The taller one, a brunette with blonde highlights and green eyes was laughing at the smaller, and younger, man, who was blushing furiously. He also had brown hair, but his was highlighted with red, and his eyes were an ocean blue. They stopped at the door, then the green eyed one went to the bar in the corner, laughing. The blue eyed boy stood there, looking unsure. Then his eyes flick to me.
It was the same reaction I always got when a guy noticed me. His mouth opened and his eyes widened. Thanks to my being a vampire, I was unnaturally beautiful, meant to draw humans in.
I stared back at the boy, then froze when the fan behind him wafted his scent towards me. Just the smell of it, the most delicious, sweetest smell I've ever experienced, made my mouth water. Even though I had fed earlier, I was overcome with the need to taste him. Fuck. I licked my lips, feeling my fangs. Fuck, fuck, fuck.
"Colby!" The blue eyed man turns, then tears his eyes away from me to look at his friend. I drop my gaze. So his name was Colby. As he walks to his friend, Colby kept looking back at me. His friend glances at me over his shoulder when Colby reaches him. "Who is that?" I hear him ask, attraction in his voice.
"I... don't know." Colby answers.
"She's hot. I wonder if she's taken." The guys says loudly. I look over.
"Brennen." Colby scolds, then he glances at me again. "I just looked up and saw her staring at me."
"Brother, you should have seen your face." Brennen laughs.
"Oh, shut up." Colby pushes playfully at Brennen's shoulder, then looks back at me. "At first she just looked curious, and then.. hungry. I've never seen someone look like that. That hungry look, I mean."
"Maybe she wants a piece of you."
"Should I go talk to her?"
"Make sure you mention me." Brennen tells Colby as Colby stands up.
No, no, no. He can't come over here. Stealing a glance at the boys, I stand up and rush out. I make it blocks away before I stop and breathe. I stared at the ground. Why did he smell so good? Salina would know. She might be younger than me, but she was around longer than I was. I take a breath, then run back to the mansion. I rush to James's room.
"The part wasn't much building wise, but it's full of humans." I report.
James turns to me then nods. "So they want it for food."
I think of Colby and I'm suddenly filled with anger at the thought of any of the other clans getting the area and finding him. I wanted him. "I say we take it." I say. "Our region doesn't have much, food wise."
"Good point." James says, tapping his short bearded chin. "I'll let the others know and send some out to take it." I nod. "Now go rest."
