"Oh." I look down.
"And I'm not willing to find out."
"Because you don't want me to die?"
"Yes." Penelope answers. Then the door opens and we both look up. "Yes?"
"Penny, we need more-" Salina stops and sniffs the air, then looks to me. "What is that smell?"
I raise an eyebrow as she looks at me curiously. Clearly she was smelling Penelope's blood in mine. "Is it me?" I ask, just to make sure.
"Yes." Salina answers. "You smell different."
"I marked him." Penny answers.
Salina nods in understanding. "I thought you would, but I did not expect him to smell that different."
"Is that bad?" I ask.
"No. At least Micheal or any other vampires will have a harder time trying to track you down."
"Right." I say, remembering that I had vampires wanting to kill me. Nice thought.
"You still have to be safe though. If they see you, they won't care if you're surrounded by people."
I sigh. "I know." I look up. "I'm not living in a house without Sam and the others though. If I have to move, I mean."
Salina smiles and looks to Penny. "We're looking."
"Looking?"
"Yes. Penny showed me some of your past videos back in the Trap House, I think you called it. And we started looking for houses similar to it."
Penny nods. "I thought you'd want to if you didn't want to leave your friends. I can see how much they mean to you."
I smile. "I'd love that."
"Trap House 2.0, here we come." She replies. "Actually, I just remembered. We can go check out one of the houses we found."
"Already?"
"Vampires can be very... convincing." Salina says, grinning, and I suddenly didn't want to know what she did. "Do you wanna go check it out?"
"Sure." I stand up and they lead me out to my car, where we drove around, me following their directions.
After a half hour of frustratingly following their difficult directions, we finally found the place. Salina giggled in the back seat when I gasped at it's size. It was at least twice as big as the Trap House, with three floors. I parked the car in the huge driveway, then got out, staring with wide eyes. I couldn't imagine how expensive this place was. Probably thousands.
"Wow." Was all I could say.
"I know, right?" Salina says. She appears at the large mahogany double doors, holding a key, which she uses to unlock the doors. I look to Penny, then move my feet to walk to the door. When I get there, I peer inside.
My first thought was a palace. The floor was polished granite, flooring the entire entrance room. The walls were painted white, with rooms branching off and a wooden staircase on the wall to the left, leading upstairs. A chandelier hung from the ceiling.
"Come on, let's go look around." Salina says. I follow the two vampires, staring wordlessly and in awe at every room I walk in to. Each room had a different theme, but they all somehow fit well together. Everything was very elegant.
"When was this built?" I ask quietly, staring around the kitchen.
"About 2001." Penny answers, watching me. "Do you want to see outside?"
"Yeah."
She takes me outside, through the back doors, into what I thought was a garden rich people would have. The yard was huge. Down a short flight of stairs, was trees and flowers of all kinds. Leading into the trees and flowers, was a thin pathway of flat rocks, twisting out of sight. I walk down the stairs and as I get closer to the pathway, I hear what sounds like a small waterfall. I turn to Penny.
"Is there a pond or waterfall of some sort?"
She nods. "It's farther back." She moves to lead me down the pathway, and after a minute of walking through the trees and flowers, we stop in front of a good sized pond with a water fall. "There's also a pool on the side of the house."
"What, really?" I ask. "This place is huge. I can already imagine the videos we could make at this place."
Penny smiles. "Come on, let's go look at the pool, then find Salina." She takes me back to the house and through the room until we get to another door. Through the windows on the wall, I could just make out a huge pool. She opens the door, and the pool was actually huge. It had to be at least three times bigger than the one at the Trap House.
