I continue questioning Penelope, all into the night. By the time I had finally run out of questions, the moon was high in the sky. I yawn.
"You should sleep." Penelope says quietly.
I nod. "I think I will." I stand up. "Will you be back tomorrow?"
"Eager to be around me?" She grins.
"I'm not even going to hide it." I respond.
She smiles, then gently pushes me towards my room. "Go to sleep. I'll be back whenever you text me."
I blink and she was gone. I shake my head. Her being a vampire was going to need some getting used to. I walk to my room, thinking about all the questions I asked and the answers I had gotten.
"What kept you up all night?" Sam asks me, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Huh? Oh, nothing." I reply.
Sam raises an eyebrow. "Thinking about Penelope?" I open my mouth, then close it. What was I supposed to say if he asked what we talked about? "Yeah, thought so." He shakes his head. "You like her, don't her?"
"I mean, she is... very attractive." I say.
"But do you like her?"
I sigh. "Maybe. I don't know."
"She looks at you in like a hungry way." Sam says. "It's kind of odd."
I nod, knowing why she looked at me that way. I look down at the holes in my jeans. "She says she wants to talk to you, by the way."
"What about?"
"She wants to say it. More like show it."
Sam frowns in confusion. "I'm confused." Then he shakes his head. "When does she want to talk to me?"
"Text her. You have her number, right?"
"Yeah." He pulls his phone out and sends her a text. We continue talking until Penelope replies, almost an hour later. "'Sorry, I was up all night and really tired, so I passed out. What's up?'" He looks up at me. "Colby says you wanted to tell me something?" He mutters, typing.
I lean forward to look at the texts. ~Yes, I do. Why don't you two come over?~ Penelope responded, sending an address.
Sam looks up. "She wants you to come over too."
I stand up. "Then let's go."
We use my car to get to the place Penelope wanted to meet at, which was good, because then Sam wouldn't be able to just drive home if he didn't like what he was about to be told. We get out of the car, staring up at the huge house. Penelope had told me that most of her clan was living in the same house, a mansion she called it, but this house did not seem big enough for a lot of vampires. I lead Sam up the pathway towards the door, but it opened before I could knock, revealing Penelope.
She had a small smile on. Her usual leather jacket and black jeans were replaced by a black leggings and matching tank top, her pale arms contrasting greatly with all the black. Even I had been surprised by how much darker she seemed than me.
Penelope grins at Sam and I, stepping back to let us inside. "Hello, boys." I quickly hug her before stepping inside.
Sam stands awkwardly by the door, looking around in amazement as Penelope closes the door behind me. "This is your house?" He asks. "It's huge."
"This is one of mine." Penelope responds. She leads us into the living room, where two most comfortable looking couches sat, an elegantly designed rug and a mahogany wood coffee table  in front of them, a grand piano on the other side of the room. Sam and I stare around, our eyes wide. Penelope picks up a jacket off the back off one of the couches. "Sorry, I didn't think to pick up."
Sam points to the piano. "You own a grand piano?"
"Yes." Penelope nods, looking over to it. "My mother taught me to play."
I move to sit on one of the couches, my body sinking into in a comfortable way.
Sam sits next to me, Penelope on the other couch across from us. "So what did you need to tell me?"
Penelope looks at me. "You and Colby are very similar." Sam frowns. "In believing in the paranormal."
"I guess you could say that." Sam responds, looking confused.
"Because of that, I need you to keep an open mind when I tell you this. I also need you to remain calm."
Sam glances at me, then back at Penelope. "Why?"
