Third Person POV

"You're making a mis-" Kane goes to say, but pauses when his eye catches, the obviously pregnant bulge Diyoza wasn't bothering to try to hide. "you're making a mistake." He finally continues. "There are so so few people left. You can't just kill everyone and expect." He pauses again taking a deep breath. Her eyes were still closed, face soaking up the warmth from the sun. "So Octavia's dead?"

"No." Diyoza says opening her eyes turning to look at Kane. "We spotted an entire battalion huddled in a sandstorm to protect her." She explains, walking over to where a table and chairs were set up in the shade. "Do you think an army of murderers and thieves would follow me into a sandstorm?" She questions, indicating for him to take the empty seat

"I highly doubt it." Kane answers honestly, taking the seat

"You like tequila?"

"I don't know." He answers as she pours a cup. "I've never had it."

"Today's your lucky day." She says picking up her own cup, gulping the first liquid down, before slouching back into her seat.

"I wish you hadn't given Abby back those pills." Kane says before taking a cautious sip of his own, wincing as he felt the burn go down his throat and into his stomach

"Wishes are for the weak." She says starting at him. "My father used to say that. He was helping hide me from the SEAL team that was sent to bring me in. My team." She says still casually leaning back. "They put two in his head, just like I trained them." She continues. "When I heard them upstairs, I knew it was over, so I slashed my own throat." She adds tilting her head back, her thumb running across the scar against her throat. Kane's eyes widened at the admission. "Should've put two in my head." She says as he takes a longer sip. "The pill thing is between you and your wife. As long as she can do her job, we don't have a problem-

"Abby's not my wife." He says setting the cup down.

"Oh." She says surprised that she got it wrong. "Better than tea, don't you think?" She asks gesturing to the cup

"Does that mean you're gonna bring our people over?" Kane quickly asks

"Maybe." She says after a few moments of silence. "But first, tell me about Octavia."

******

"Gross." Madi burst out watching as Clarke changes the bandage in Octavia's arm.

"Madi." Clarke scolds her with a look. "The infection's passing, but this is gonna hurt." Clarke says focusing on Octavia. "Are you sure you don't want Jackson-

"Jackson's tending to Indra and the others in medbay." Octavia says dismissively, not even looking at the wound. "Just do it."

Her body was there, but her mind was elsewhere. She knew Kayleigh and Bell had a child, she was stunned to discover there was two. A nephew and a niece she had yet to meet.

"Madi's a big fan." Clarke says pulling Octavias thoughts of the youngest Blake's. "She's heard every story about the girl under the floor who saved the human race." Clarke adds breaking the silence.

Octavias eyes moved, and her head tilted slightly to the side as she looked over the dark haired girl, hovering near Clarke.

"Now what's your story?" Octavia asks looking into the girls blue eyes. "You survived 6 years of radiation?" She says impressively "What's your secret?"

"Synthetic Nightblood, like me." Clarke rushes to say before Madi could answer. "I took her to Becca's lab and shared my bone marrow to keep her alive."
