I was walking out of school and then saw Angel.

I was really nervous about meeting his parents.

"You ready?" he asked as we got on his jeep.

"Honestly no" I said.

"You'll be fine" he grabbed my hand and kissed it.

We got to his house and it was huge.

He opened my door and we went inside.

His parents were sitting on their couches, on their tablets.

"Mom, dad this is Brooklyn" he introduced me.

His mom smiled.

"Brooklyn Montgomery" I smiled and offered my hand.

"You're really gorgeous. Nice to meet you I'm Liza" she shook it and kissed my cheek.

And I shook his dad's hand.

"Leo" he smiled.

"We're going to check if everything is ready, we'll be back. You two sit" his mom smiled and they left.

"So a Montgomery huh" we heard and turned around.

"Oh and look this is my grandma, Joann (Betty White)" he said, grabbing her hand.

"His favorite person" she said.

"I'm Brooklyn" I smiled.

She kissed my cheek.

"Montgomery sounds familiar. Where are you from?" she asked.

And we started talking.

I could see why Angel loved her so much.

We then went to eat at the dining hall.

"So is your mom Bianca Woods?" his mom asked.

"Yes" I responded.

"And your dad?"

"Mom" Angel said.

"Oh, I'm sorry" she said.

"It's fine" I gave her a weak smile.

"Ugh Liza, always ruining things" his grandma said.

"We have to go" Angel's mom said as his dad got up.

"It was nice meeting you" they smiled.

"Same goes to you two. Thank you" I smiled and they left.

I saw Angel look down.

I grabbed his hand.

"Angel, don't even worry about it" his grandma smiled.

"Let's go to the living room. Brooklyn, walk me to the couch" she said and I grabbed her hand.

"So I'm sorry for the question but tell me about your dad" she said.

"Well, he left when I was like 6 years old. I haven't seen him since then. That's all I can say" I told her.

"What's his name?"

"Uriel Montgomery" and she gasped.

"Uri, I basically saw him grow up. His parents and I were really close. He was best friends with Leo. When him and your mom started going out, he slowly started to drift away. His parents never liked her. So it got to a point where your dad had to choose, his family or her. He obviously chose her" she said.

Tears started forming in my eyes.

"I didn't mean to make you sad" she said.

"No no. Thank you, I wouldn't have known any of this if it weren't from you. I haven't seen him in so many years and my mom never talks about him" I said.

"Wait a second"

She then came back and handed me a picture of him when he was young.

"It's been so long, I forgot how he looks" I said and started crying.

Angel hugged me.

"You can keep the picture" she smiled.

"Thank you" I hugged her.

After a while, we left to my house.

He opened my door and I got off.

"How are you?" he asked.

"I'm good" I hugged him.

"Brooklyn, can you tell me what the hell is happening here!" we heard.

It was my mom and my heart stopped.

"Mom this is-" I got cut off.

"I don't give a crap who this is. You're coming with me" she said and grabbed my arm.

"Stay away from her" she told Angel.

"Mom" I said and then she basically dragged me inside.

"I want the truth, Brooklyn"

"Can you let go?" I snatched my arm.

"I got a visit, congratulating me because my daughter had a boyfriend. Did you think I wasn't going to find out? Were you not going to tell me?" she crossed her arm.

"How? Was I supposed to while you're talking on the phone with a stranger?" my voice cracked.

"What is that?" she said talking about the picture.

"Nothing" I tried to hid it but she snatched it away.

She looked at it and her eyes started watering.

She was about to break it.

"Mom don't" I tried to get it.

When I finally got it, I hid under my sleeve.

"Whatever that is with that guy, it's over"

"You can't decide that. That guy is the only one who worries about me. I feel alone, you're here but it's like you never are" I said.

"He will hurt you Brooklyn"

"I'll decide that" I said.

"You better end that relationship" she said and left.

I screamed as I threw something on the floor.

I went to my room crying.
