Chapter 62.

I got ready, with a smile on my face.

When I got to school, I went to the picnic table.

"You seem happy" Beverly said.

"Yeah, I haven't seen that smile in a long time" Bethany said.

"I have to tell you guys something. Me and Luke are dating" I said, smiling.

"Aw really?" Bethany said.

"I haven't felt this way since Angel" I said.

"We're happy for you" Beverly hugged me.

We looked at Becca.

"Brooklyn he's always been up in your business" she said.

"Exactly, I feel safe with him. I love him and I've always had. I just didn't want to recognize it, I was scared" I said.

"Whatever you want" she said.

"Please be happy for me" I said, sticking my bottom lip out.

"I am" she smiled.

"I'm about to head in, catch y'all later" I said and went inside.

I saw Luke shutting his locker and he saw me.

Without thinking, I ran to him and he picked me up.

When he put me down, I smiled.

"Hi beautiful" he kissed my cheek.

"Hi" I smiled.

"Ready to go?" he asked and I nodded.

He grabbed my hand and we walked to class.

My friends then went inside the classroom.

I saw Becca roll her eyes and I tried to ignore it because that's just how she is.

"Today, we're going to talk about scholarships and how you can apply for them if you can't afford college" our teacher said.

"Well, that only applies to people who don't have money like our friend Luke" Becca said, and turned to look at Luke, smirking.

Everyone else started laughing.

"Class, be quiet" our teacher said.

The bell rung.

"I'm sorry about her" I said to Luke.

"It's okay baby. It's not your fault so don't apologize. She's scared to loose you to me" he said.

I hugged him.

I then went to go look for Becca.

She was with the other girls.

"Becca, what the hell? You need to stop with your insults. Luke hasn't done anything to you" I said, mad.

"Chill out Brook, it was just a joke" she laughed.

"It's not funny to him or me" I said.

"Yeah Becca, you crossed the line" Bethany said.

Becca rolled her eyes and left.

"She didn't even apologize" I said and groaned.

"Just let her be, you know how she is" Beverly said.

After school, we went to the gym to get ready for our game.

When I got out, someone scared me.

I screamed and turned to see Luke.

"Luke" I said, pushing him.

He laughed.

"What are you doing here?" I said.

"Just came to wish you good luck" he said and kissed me.

"Thank you" I smiled and we walked to the gym.

We went to meet up.

"Brooklyn" Becca said.

I rolled my eyes and ignored her.

The game was over, we had won.

I got my stuff and Luke went to go meet me.

"You did amazing" he said, hugging me.

"Thanks" I said, in a baby voice.

"Are you hungry?" he asked, in a baby voice.

"Yes" I answered, in a baby voice.

He laughed.

He put his arm around me and we started walking.

"Brooklyn, can we talk?" Becca stopped us.

"Sorry, we can't" I said and we walked away.

"Are you mad at her because of what happened?" Luke asked, as he opened the car door for me.

"Someone just needs to tell her that everything she says isn't okay" I said.

And then we drove off.

We went to this cheeseburger and milkshake place.

When we were done eating, he dropped me off home.

I opened the door and William was sitting on the staircase, on his phone.

"Look at what time it is" he said and I rolled my eyes.

"Again, you're not my dad, honey" I faked smiled.

"I was asked to take care of you" he said and I laughed.

"I'm not a baby" I said.

"Do you want to watch a scary movie?" he asked.

"No thanks, you like me being scared huh" I said and he laughed.

"Bye William" I said and went to my room.
