The next day

I got a text message and I checked from who it was.

Luke.

I'll pick you up at 2:30

No thanks

I'm not asking you, get ready, please

I groaned and got ready.

I didn't want to disappoint my dad in not going.

I heard a knock on my door

I heard a knock on my door.

"Come in" I said and it was Luke.

"Hi" he smiled and I rolled my eyes.

"I'm ready" I said.

"Where's your necklace?" he asked.

"I don't need it" I said.

He then picked me up and I screamed.

"Luke" I said and he made me look at him.

"Stop acting like that" he said.

"Let me go" I said.

He kissed me.

"You don't need me, you were talking to someone I highly dislike" I said.

"I didn't mean to hurt you" he said.

"Hm" I said and he kissed me all over my face.

I stuck out my toungue at him.

He laughed.

"Kiss me" he said and I did.

When I pulled away, he put me down and we left.

My dad was already there.

"Hi dad" I said and hugged him.

"Hey" he smiled.

"Hi, I'm Luke" he offered his hand.

"Uriel" my dad shook it.

"Let's sit down, yeah?" my dad said and we sat down and ordered.

And usually, my dad started asking him questions.

"What are your future plans?"

"I got accepted in Columbia to major in architecture" Luke said and my dad nodded.

"Dad we're both valedictorian" I said and his eyes went wide.

"I'm impressed" he said.

They started talking, I could tell my dad liked him.

We finished eating.

"Do y'all want to go get frozen yogurt?" my dad asked.

"Sure" Luke said and I nodded.

We walked to the place.

When we made our frozen yogurt we sat down and they still talked.

We finished.

"Do you want me to give you a ride?" Luke asked me.

"Um no thanks babe, my dad's dropping me off" I said and he nodded.

"Nice to meet you Mr. Montgemery" he said.

"Me too, hope we meet up soon" my dad smiled.

"Bye" he kissed my cheek.

"Bye" I smiled and we went on our own ways.

"So?" I asked my dad, getting on his car.

"I really like him for you, he looks like a good guy. Gave me a better impression than that guy Julian" he said.

"I'm glad" I smiled.

"He seems that he really loves and cares for you" he said.

"I know" I smiled.

When I got home, I saw that my mom was there.

I went to her room, and knocked.

"Come in" I heard and opened the door.

"Hi mom" I said.

"Hey Brook" she smiled.

"Where'd you go?"

"I went out with my dad" I said and she rolled her eyes.

"Mom, can I talk to you about something?"

"Yeah sure"

I took a deep breath as my heart beated fast.

"So there's a guy, we like each other" I said and she raised her eyebrows.

"Who is he?"

"His name is Luke West"

"West? Never heard of his family" she said.

"That's the thing, he doesn't come from a wealthy family" I said.

She laughed.

"Okay good joke Brook" she said.

"It's not a joke"

"How could you fall in love with that type of person?"

"Mom, he's a human being. His socioeconomic status doesn't define him" I said.

"I don't accept it"

"Dad wasn't on your socioeconomic level from last time I remember" I said.

She stayed quiet.

"I'm not staying away from him mom and if you love me, you'll accept it" I said and left.
