Loki waited anxiously from his seat in the Grandmaster's VIP box overlooking the arena. A projection of the Grandmaster himself stood in the middle speaking to the audience. Loki didn't really pay attention to what he was saying until he finally started to announce your presence.

"Making his first appearance, and hopefully not last," the crowd laughed, "I give you...Animal!"

There was a mixture of cheers and boos as one of the arena doors opened. Loki was practically at the edge of his seat as he took in your appearance. You weren't wearing the tattered clothes he had given you in New York anymore, he almost didn't recognize you in your armor.

You were wearing leather armor that covered most of your body except for your upper arms. Your forearms were protected by arm guards, and there were (f/c) markings on your chest plate. Your helmet covered most of your face and resembled the shape of a skull, it had a metal mohawk going down the back and sharp spikes on the sides. Your sword was sheathed to your side and you had also decided on a shield, it didn't resemble Steve's at all and had a weird shape to it as well as some (f/c) markings.

Strapping your shield tightly against your forearm you walked confidently towards the center of the arena looking out at the thousands of spectators packed into the stadium seats. You were here to put on a show and if it meant you got to go back home you were going to give it to them.

"Real promising isn't he," grandmaster announced, "Well he better watch out cause we have another promising newbie coming up, get ready for Grobb!"

Loki looked at the arena door opposite of you and secretly hoped whoever was on the other side would go easy on you. He didn't know if he was more worried about your wellbeing or the money, he betted on you. If anyone asked, he would say it was the latter.

Finally, as the doors opened a blue alien twice your size holding a giant battle-ax walked towards you. They had two large horns at the top of their head and as they walked you could see a large tail moving behind them. Their armor consisted of a shoulder guard that went down their left arm, a leather kilt, and shin guards. They were about the same stature as Korg.

The projection of the Grandmaster disappeared and the only two left in the arena were you and your opponent. Grobb looks at you, nothing but pure rage in their eyes, and charges right at you with their horns. You grab your sword and hold your shield in front of you. Right, when it looked like you were about to be skewered you roll out of the way. Your opponent didn't have time to turn and ran right into the arena walls, making it shake. The crowd cheered and laughed at your move, but you didn't have time to take it in as Grobb turned around looking angrier than before and this time charged you with their ax.

With your shield, you dodge their attacks and try to land a few with your sword as well. But as your opponent kept striking down at you, you felt a pain in your gut that ended up distracting you. Before you could even see it coming Grobb's tail crashed into your abdomen with enough force to throw you across the arena. As you laid face down on the ground slightly dazed you could hear the crowd cheering and the footsteps of your opponent making his way towards you.

From the VIP box, Loki had seen you roughly land on the ground and scowled as he watched the brute make their way towards you to finish the job. He had hoped the substance he had given you before would have been enough to activate your powers, but it seemed he was wrong.

"I thought that friend of yours had a little more fight in him," Grandmaster told him grinning as he sat on the other end of the couch Loki was on.

At that moment Loki could see you get up, a familiar glow in your eyes. Perhaps his plan had worked, and he couldn't help but grin, "I believe he still has some tricks up his sleeve."

Down in the arena, the pain in your gut had stopped and you looked behind you. Grobb was now standing over you with their ax in hand. You quickly rolled out of the way as they brought it down on the ground inches from your body. Standing up fully you tried to grab your sword from your side but instead realized it was on the other side of the arena. So, when they came swinging you did your best to keep your distance and dodge.

Grobb had managed to corner you against the wall and as they swung their ax you ducked. The force of the blow had lodged his weapon on the arena wall, and they were having a hard time pulling it out. Taking advantage of the distraction you made your way towards the other end of the arena. You ignored the shouts of the crowd telling you to fight.

You briefly looked down at your hands and noticed your claw-like nails and smiled. Loki's plan had worked, the disgusting substance he had given you earlier had activated your powers, you didn't know how it would fully affect you but all you needed it to do was help you take down the giant in front of you.

Speaking of the devil, Grobb gave up on trying to retrieve their weapon and instead turned their attention back to you. They lowered their head, so their horns were pointed towards you and got ready to charge like a bull. You took a deep breath and stood your ground.

Just as you thought they would, they charged you at full speed. Even when they were getting close you didn't move not until the last second. Again, rolling out of the way you turned to see your opponent run straight into the arena wall, their horns stuck.

The crowd started to chant your name, "Animal! Animal! Animal!"

As Grobb tried to get themselves unstuck you quickly jumped on their back with ease causing them to grunt in surprise. You wrapped your arms around their neck as they finally pushed themselves off the wall so they wouldn't be able to throw you off. They tried to grab at you, but they couldn't reach. You tighten your grip on their neck causing them to stumble backward. The crowd was going crazy as Grobb struggled to throw you off and you held on as if you were riding one of those mechanic bulls.

As you continued to choke them you could see Grobb start to slow down and you hoped they would collapse soon. But instead, they used their last bit of strength to slam themselves against the wall. Your helmet had taken most of the damage but the impact still made you loosen your grip and gave them the perfect chance to shake you off.

As you were temporarily dazed on the ground your opponent wrapped his hand around your neck and hoisted you up until you were at their eye level. As they painfully squeezed your neck you felt your lungs burn as you tried to gasp for air. Grobb let out a low chuckle as you pitifully tried to free yourself from their grip.

You growled at them and swiped your hand across their face. They yelled in pain and dropped you, their hands now holding their face. You gasped for air as you stumbled onto the ground. While on the ground your hand touched something cold, it was your shield from before. You stood up and picked it up, throwing it like a frisbee towards your opponent's abdomen. You had gotten the idea from all the times you had seen Steve do it with his own shield. Grobb doubled over and you grabbed your shield slamming it down on their head until they finally collapsed to the ground.

The whole crowd exploded in cheers as you stood over your fallen opponent. Caught up in the moment you raised your fist in celebration causing them to chant your name. You looked around until you caught the eye of a certain trickster sitting in the VIP area. From his seat, Loki watched as you grinned at him. There were a couple of times during the fight he thought you were a goner, but you managed to come through.

"Not a bad show," Grandmaster spoke next to him. Loki nodded in agreement and then made his way out of the room to go find you.

After your win, you were led back to the prefight area where you were greeted by Korg and Miek who congratulated you. "That was a good fight out there. Glad you haven't died yet."

Your throat was still sore from earlier, so you just nodded and smiled at them.

"Hey, the main event is up next, are you going to watch?" Korg pointed over to a small window where a few other prisoners were looking out towards the arena. You nodded your head in agreement and walked next to him.

"You did well out their mutt," you heard someone call out. You turned and saw Loki standing on the other side of the fence.

"I'll catch up," you told Korg, your voice sounding hoarse, and then walked over to the god. "Looks like that thing you gave me worked."

Loki took in your appearance. Your eyes still had a soft golden glow to them, and your nails were still sharp as claws. You also had dark bruises forming around your neck but that had been a result of the fight. "Has it started fading yet?"

"Not yet but it helped out there, I dare even say it made me stronger."

Loki grinned, "It also made me richer."

He took out a small pouch from his pocket shaking it slightly so you could hear the money he had made off your fight jingle inside. You rolled your eyes but the smile on your face didn't waver. "Happy to know getting tossed around helped you make a profit."

"It is the least you could do," he joked.

"Have you heard anything on Thor?"

At the suddena mention of his brother's name, Loki resisted the urge to scowl, "No why?"

"Why?" you looked at him like he was crazy, "We're gonna need his help to get out of here Loki."

"And go where?" Loki frowned, "Back to Midgard so that your so-called friends can lock us both away in that tower of theirs."

"Yes, because they are my friends," you defended. You unintentionally reached for the ring on your hand Natasha had given you on your birthday. It had been a small gesture, but you had made sure to take care of it since then.

Loki scoffed and reached through the fence grabbing your wrist where you had a tracker before it fell off a while ago. "Have you not noticed they treat you more like a pet (Y/N) or was the tracker they put on your wrist not enough proof."

You pulled your hand out his grip and glared at him, your eyes glowing a little brighter now. "I couldn't care less if you stayed in this hellhole but I'm not. Have fun with your new friends Loki, cause once I get the chance I'm going back home."

You turned your back towards him and walked towards where the other prisoners were waiting to watch the next fight. As the Grandmaster started to announce his champion who was about to fight against Doug, you glanced behind you but Loki was already gone. You shook your head irritated at the way he had spoken to you and instead tried to pay attention to what was happening in front of you.

As Doug stood in the arena the doors opposite of him burst open revealing a familiar green figure. You couldn't help but grin at the sight of him. It looks like you have a better chance of getting off this planet than you thought.

A/N:
*Hulk has entered the chat*

I just had to sneak in a small Gladiator(2000) reference in there, hope someone catches it. Also I think the hardest thing about writing this chapter was coming up with a name for your opponent.
