Your POV:
It was a nice sunny day as the sun was shining through the curtains. I love it when it's like this.

"Baby." Dylan said in his morning voice (😍). "Morning." I said turning to face him. "How are you this morning?" He asked pressing a kiss to my lips. "I'm really good. What about you mr?" I asked smiling. "I'm always good when I get to wake up to you every morning." He said smiling. I blushed. "You're cute." I said kissing his cheek. We spent a good 30 minutes together before getting up to start the day. It was about 6am when we finally got out of bed even though we were meant to be out of bed about 30 minutes ago. The two of us showered then got ourselves changed into our lifeguard uniform. "You're looking good today." I said winking at him. Dylan smiled. We both ate something then headed off to work.

Singlets and I were in the rhino together when the radio went.

*bondi central to singlets... there's a couple stuck in the rip*

*y/n is out and on her way. I'll back her up*

*deano is backing you both up*

That was the last thing I heard as I jumped out of the rhino grabbing the bored and paddling as fast as I could. Singlets and Deano paddled our behind me as I arrived to the person first. I managed to get her onto the board then throwing my arm up in the air doing the 3 pumps which meant I needed the defib when I got back to shore. "She's unconscious." I said panicking slightly. "Let's go." Singlets shouted as the three of us paddled back to shore. We got there carrying the lady and bringing hut up the beach a way from the water. Immediately we began CPR on her.

The ambo was called and they soon arrived helping us to get this woman back. The paramedics did everything they could to try save her. After a good 30 minutes of CPR and shocking her she was soon pronounced deceased. I place my hand over my mouth in shock. It hit me hard. I spun around just to take a breath. I took a deep breath trying to not let it get to me. Everything felt like it was crashing down on me but nothing was so I walked over to where everyone was standing. There was also police there too. "Y/n?" Harries said. I snapped out of my thoughts looking up at him. "I-I." I couldn't speak. I tried but I was lost for words. "We umm... as we got closer it got worse." I said holding back the tears. "I did my best but obviously it wasn't good enough." I said while crying. "Hey hey. Don't cry. You're stronger than this." He said placing an arm around me. I got pats on the back from the others that were down here with us. "You did what you could y/n." Singlets said when he patted my back. I nodded my head wiping the tears away.

I decided to go walk up the beach to take a breather on what just happened. Thoughts just kept going through my head saying I could've gone faster and done better. If only I could've saved her. I did my best. Dylan came over towards me. He stood in front of me as I placed my head in my hands and he pulled me in for a hug. "It's going to be ok. You did what you could." He said over and over. I just really needed him to be here with me. We pulled away looking at one another. "Go grab your things and we'll head home." Dylan said and I smiled. "See you in a bit." I said as we let go of each other's hand.

I heard my name being shouted as I walked toward the tower. "Y/n?!" They said again. I turned around seeing Jethro running up towards me. "Hey y/n. I know this was your first resus but it's going to be ok promise me. I was like that with my first one. I found it really hard to deal with but being surrounded by the people you care for will help you through it. It's going to hit you hard but this is what happens with being a lifeguard. Your aim is to bring people home but sometimes it doesn't always work out." Jethro said to me as I walked back up to the tower. "Thank you Jef. It did hit me hard. I did my best but it felt like I failed." I admitted. "Hey. Don't think like that. You didn't fail. Singlets and Deano think you did amazing and did all you could getting to her quick enough. Just rest up for the evening and I'll see you tomorrow yeah." Jethro said smiling. I smiled back. "See you tomorrow." I said. I made my way to the tower collecting my things and meeting Dylan so we could walk home together. We hugged and pecked each other's lips as we made our way home.

Dylan and I made it home in silence. "I'm going for a shower." I said as I headed to the bathroom. "Babe?" Dylan said as I looked him in the eyes. I wanted to cry so bad. "Yes?" I said as my voice cracked. "I love you." He said making a small smile appear on my face. "I love you too." I said back and then went for my shower. I had somewhat of a cry in the shower which helped me out a lot.

It was sometime during the night. I'm not sure when it was but I got out of bed and headed into the living room hoping I didn't wake Dylan up. I sat on the sofa with my head in my hands as I began to bawl my eyes out. "Y/n?" I heard Dylan's voice say. "I did all I could." I said quietly with tears streaming down my face. "Baby you did what you could." He said taking a seat next to me wrapping his arms around me as I rested my head on his bare chest.

Dylan's POV:
I heard y/n cry. She wasn't in our bed so I went to go find her. "Y/n?" I said catching her attention. "Baby you did what you could." I said as I took a seat by her. I wrapped my arms around her as she rested her head on my bare chest. I felt her tears fall onto my chest and her begin to shake. "Deep breaths." I said to her. We both took deep breaths and soon she got her breathing back to normal. "Let's go to bed." I suggested as I helped her up with my arms still wrapped around her as we headed back to bed. I kept my arms around her as we fell asleep making sure she was safe.
