Your POV:
Dylan and I have known each other for years. We've been best friends since the day we met (which was when I moved to the school that he was studying at) when he was about 10. We're now both 17/18. Time flys by. Over the years my feelings for Dylan have got stronger but I know he'll never like me. He's had girlfriends before and I've just had to put a fake happy face on for him. Yes I was happy for him but it hurt me knowing he would never love me like that. He loves me like a best friend.

Dylan has been acting different when I'm around. He has been like this for the past few days and I'm starting to get worried that I might've  done something to cause it. I might ask one of the lifeguards before I actually ask Dylan himself. I was meeting Dylan for lunch anyways so it was the perfect opportunity to ask one of them.

Maxi was walking along the beach so I decided to go up and ask him. "Hey Maxi!" I shouted grabbing his attention. "Hey y/n! How's it going?" He asked. "It's going good. I have a question." I said looking up at him. "Yes." He said as we walked towards the tower. "Dylan has been distant and acting odd around me lately. I was just wondering if I could've done something to cause him to do that. Is he ok?" I asked. It's almost like someone switched something on Maxi. "Sorry y/n. Got to go. Why don't you ask him yourself? You'll find out the truth then." He said quickly as if he didn't want to answer it. Almost like he knew the answer to the question! Well maybe next time.

*the next day*

Dylan and I would communicate every so often. But with him acting the way he has been then it's not so much.

I was at on the beach again as Dylan wanted to speak to me during his lunch break which was in an hour. In the corner of my eye I saw a blue uniform make its way towards me. "Y/n?" They said. I looked up and saw Noah standing there. He soon sat down next to me. I have to admit, when Dylan introduced me to all the lifeguards, I found Noah quite cute. But I still had strong feelings for Dylan and nothing's going to change that. Noah and I are just friends but Dylan most likely won't see it as that. He'll think we're more than friends.

Dylan's POV:
I saw Y/N sat on the sand again waiting for me as I wanted to speak to her. I wanted her to know the truth about my feelings for her. The thought got interrupted by my eyes witnessing Noah and Y/n sat together. They looked really close. They both laughed at what one another said. It's almost like they were made for one another. Which broke my heart. I got a bit jealous because she was talking to him. "She likes Noah. I can see it." I mumbled out loud. I wish I could just go up to her and admit my feelings but it's hard. She has been my best friend for years now and I love her but she probably doesn't love me back.

Your POV:
Noah and I takes for ages. Luckily he was on his lunch break. "Noah?" I said. "Yes y/n." He said. "You know Dylan well right?" I asked. "Yeah definitely what's up?" He asked. It's now or never. There's no going back now. "I feel like he is ignoring me because I think I have done something wrong to cause him to do so." I say. "Y/N. I promise you, you haven't. He has something on his mind which is obviously bothering him but he will come around and be himself again once he's got whatever it is off his mind." Noah explained. "Are you sure?" I asked. "Yes I am." He said. "He normally is never like this." I told him. "I know he isn't but he will get back to his normal self soon." Noah told me, giving me a side hug.

We sat in silence for a few more minutes. "My lunch break is over so I better get back to work." Noah said standing up and helping me up with him. The two of us walked to the tower were Dylan was standing waiting for me.

Dylan and I headed to sit on a bench outside the pavilion. He looked me in the eyes. Not loosing eye contact with me. Those eyes are killing me. "I like you as in more than a friend Y/n for a while now but these past few days I've fell in love even more. That's why I've been distant. I was scared of what you will say or do." Dylan explained. He loves me. Butterflies erupted my stomach. This must be a dream. I looked into his eyes. I couldn't resist anymore. I leaned over the table and pressed my lips on his. Dylan instantly kissed back.

We pulled away smiling like crazy. "I like you too." I said smiling. Dylan leaned over the table once again pressing his lips to mine. It was perfect. "Will you be my girlfriend?" He mumbled against them. "Of course." I said pulling away to say that kissing him one last time as he smiled into the kiss. Perfect end to a perfect day.
