Hoppo - Love

Your POV:
I'm a lifeguard. It runs in the family. My dad is head lifeguard at bondi beach. Hoppo. He's very protective over me and looks out for me which I love as I know I have my dad there with me. But there is one thing. There's this guy that I love, his names Caleb (a/n: made up name) and we've been together for a few months now. When I introduced him to my dad, he didn't seem that impressed with Caleb's attitude towards things. Hoppo got a bad impression from him and hasn't really approved of him since. Well if I love Caleb then I love him so nothings changing that.

It was 8:15 in the evening and it was just me and my dad. I was in my room while he was in the kitchen/ living room area. "Y/n!" I heard him calling. "Coming." I replied taking my phone and walking to where he was. "I need to talk to you about Caleb." He said. I immediately knew where this was going to go. I sat down on the sofa next to him as we began to talk. "I have a bad feeling about that Caleb guy. I know something bad will happen and I think he's a bad guy. You probably don't want to be hearing this y/n but I don't want you getting hurt by him. He seems like a dangerous man about to strike anytime. I just don't like him." He explained. My heart dropped a little. I knew dad didn't like him but I definitely didn't think it in this way. I took a breath. "Dad I know you don't like him but give him a chance. If things go wrong then they go wrong. But please, for me." I said looking at him hoping he would give Caleb a chance. "Fine but if he hurts you in any way I don't want you to have anything to do with him." Hoppo said. I sighed. "Fine." I said walking off back to my room.

It was a new day and also a nice one too. The sun was shining and the Skye was clear. Today is going to be a good day... or so I thought. I got up and took a shower before putting on my swimwear and then the famous blue top. I looked at myself in the mirror then placing my hair into a messy bun for the day. I made my way into the kitchen/ living room area to see my dad all dressed and ready for the day ahead. I love working with my dad. "Morning." I said smiling. "Morning. What's got you in a happy mood?" Hoppo asked. "Oh nothing. I know today's going to be a good day." I exclaimed making him chuckle. "Ok then. Go get your things as we're leaving in about 2 minutes." He said so I grabbed my bag from my room then placed my flip flops (a/n: as we English call them that) on grabbing a apple then walking out the door with my dad right behind me.

The two of us made our way to work and I placed my things in Hoppo's office as I know he'll look after it for me. I was set to patrol the north side of the beach for a few hours then came to the tower to help. There had been some reported attacks but no one could find the guy who started them. During my lunch break I met up with Caleb and we sat enjoying the view of bondi. He seemed different/distracted. His attitude seemed off too. "Babe are you ok?" I asked. He hummed. After my lunch break was over I said goodbye to him and headed into the tower. Little did I know I was sat next to the guy who was doing the attacks.

I got settled on my chair in the tower looking out across the beach. Jesse and Troy were in the tower with me as we looked over the beach. We had deep conversations and laughs about anything. We were soon cut off by the radio which was right beside me that went off.

I had a bad feeling about this call.

*a crowd has started to form a few metres down from the tower and away from the pavilion could you investigate as Reidy and Whippet are making their way over now*

I looked out on my binoculars and looked at the crowd forming exactly where Maxi said it was. Soon another update came in saying it was a fight. I grabbed my radio and ran out of the tower and over to the scene with two other lifeguards one of them being my dad, Hoppo. We made our way through the crowd and saw two guys throwing punches at one another. We had to step in and separate them both. Hoppo and Chappo held one of the guys whereas Reidy and Whippet had hold of the other guy. I stood by my dad and look at both of the guys. I had to double look at the guy that Reidy and Whippet were holding back. "Caleb." I said in shock. "What were you thinking?!" I exclaimed. He grumbled. "You've been the one who's causing scenes on the beach haven't you!" I said. "Y/n. Don't bother." I heard Hoppo say. "Dad I can deal with this." I said. "I should've known you would do something like this. I'm so fed up of being in the dark with you. I hate you. We're done. I don't want anything to do with you. Don't contact me again." I said straight to Calebs face. I didn't want him to see me cry so I held it back for when he wasn't around. Soon the police arrived taking both men back to the station.

I felt someone's hand place on my shoulder. I looked up seeing my dad. A tear fell down my cheek. "You were right." I mumbled hugging him tightly. "Y/n I'm just glad he hasn't done anything like that to you. I would worry so much when you were with him or at his house. But I'm glad you chose the right decision." He said hugging me as we walked back to the tower to finish off our shift.
