Chapter 8

Yesterday was such a fun day with Hero's family. I absolutely adore them and am so happy to have them in my life.

Today we're going for lunch with his friends. Hero didn't tell them about the baby yet so I guess today they will find out.

"Do you think we could go shopping for new clothes tomorrow. I can't wear dresses for the rest of my pregnancy" I ask Hero as I add the finishing touches to my makeup.

"I always love a good dress on you" Hero says wrapping his arms around my waist.

"You're sweet" I say and he kisses my head.

"Ready to go love. The reservation is set for one. We have 30 minutes" he says and I nod

"Coming" I say

"So glad to have you home" One of Hero's friend says

We get up from our seats at the restaurant and stand to greet them.

"Josephine-... it's a pleasure to meet yo-... you" his friend Felix says to me but quickly notices my bump.

"Yes. I have heard plenty of things about you" I say kindly

"Dude I just have to ask. Is this girl knocked up" One of his other friends ask

"She is. Shes pregnant. We're having a baby" hero tells them

They all look at each other and kinda laugh.

"And you're keeping it" Someone says

I'm still not sure who is who.

"We are" I say

"Hero as a dad. Never thought I would see that" his friend makes a joke and they laugh

"But we're happy for you none the less. Congrats man" Felix says and I give him a smile

"So josephine, how are you liking England" a friend asks

"It's beautiful. A bit different from Australia but I like it" I say

"So does that mean you'll come live here with Hero when the baby comes. Like how are you planning on doing that" the same friend asks

"We still have to figure out those details but I'm sure we'll figure something out" I say turning to Hero and he gives me a smile

"Sounds good then" the friend replies

"Does Chanel know about the baby" Felix asks

"Who's Chanel" I ask

"Just some girl Hero was in a very long term relationship with not so long ago" One of his friends speaks up

"I haven't talked with Chanel in a long time. I don't need to talk to her about this. She's the past" Hero says

"I have all I need here" he adds turning to me and kissing my head.

I give him my best acting smile and stay pretty quiet for the rest of the time we spent with his friends at the restaurant.

Why didn't he ever tell me about Chanel? I didn't even know he was in a long time relationship with anyone?

We get back to his apartment after a long day out. Ran into a few fans who caught us right outside the restaurant. After fan accounts have been exploding over my very exposed bump. They want answers that I'm not ready to give out yet. I will be getting an angry call from my manager any minute.

"You've been pretty quiet today, is everything alright" Hero asks and I sit on the couch with his dog diesel.

"Why didn't you ever tell me about Chanel? I didn't know you were in a long time relationship" I ask him

"This is why you're upset" he asks annoyed

"I'm not upset. I'm just asking a question" I say

"She's an ex, does that bother you, it shouldn't" he says

"It bothers me that you never told me about her. I remember asking you about your history and she never came up, why?" I ask

"It doesn't matter. We didn't work out and that's it" he says and I nod

"Fine" I whisper and he heads to his room

"I guess it's just me and you diesel" I say to the dog and he playfully rolls on the couch next to me

I some how end you falling asleep on the couch and wake up the next morning on it. I sit up and see a sleeping diesel next to me.

I walk over to Hero's room and he's not there.

"Hero" I call out and no answer.

I'm about to call him when he walks through the door sweating.

"Thanks for letting your pregnant girlfriend sleep on the couch. Very boyfriend of you" I say and he chugs some water

"Look I'm sorry how I acted last night. I just don't like bringing her up. She's the past and that's how I like to keep it" he says

"Whatever you say Hero. I don't want to keep arguing over your Ex Chanel" I say and he holds my hand

"Thank you" he says

"I just got back from my run, I'm going to head in the shower then I'm all yours" he says kissing my head and I sigh as he leaves me in the kitchen

Something is off with Hero. What happened with this Chanel girl that haunts him?

We're eating breakfast and I can't help but ask

"Just tell me, what happened with Chanel" I say

"Jo come on" he says annoyed

"I would like to know, whatever happened isn't going to make me see you any differently" I say

"I cheated on her. Things ended on bad terms. I don't know why my friends brought her up" he says and I hold his hand from across the table

"Look I love you and whatever happened with this Chanel girl I'm sorry, things happen. I don't want you to beat yourself up over this" I say and he gives me a small smile

"I love you too" he says

"Now no more Chanel talk. She really is the past. I'm ready to focus on you and I" he says and I can't help but smile

I lean over and peck his lips. He holds a hand to my face trying to kiss me back but my phone starts to ring.

Of course, it's my manager.
