Chapter 30

Jo pov

Hero walks into the cabin and I quickly walk up to him.

"How's your mom" I ask and he takes a second to hug me.

Oh no. Did something bad happened? I have been calling everyone and no one would get back to me.

"She's doing better. She had a heart attack but the doctors caught it in time" he says

"So What happens now" I say

"She's getting sent to a hospital in Texas. The doctor recommends this is the best place for her to recover" he says

"Lets get ready for Texas then" I say

"My mom will be okay. She said she doesn't want us worried up on her. She's going to get her treatments in Texas and she'll be home before we know it" he says and I hold his hand

"Whatever you need me to do. I'm here Hero" I tell him and he pecks my lips

"I know love. I think this is the best option for her and for us. We shouldn't uplift our family too much, especially when we'll be staying in Atlanta soon" He says

"I was so worried about your mom and you" I say giving him a hug

"I know this was scary but why couldn't you call me" I tell him

"I'm sorry. I was a jerk earlier. I shouldn't have left like that. I was just so scared about my mum" he says and I look up at him and let him know it's okay.

"At least you're back now and she's doing okay" I say

"How's Elle" he ask as we walk hand and hand to the room.

"She's good. Sleeping in one of the rooms" I say

My mom insists she goes to Texas with Hero's parents. Her and Martha are very close and she wants to help in any way that she can. From the hospital, they will be transported to Texas.

Hero and I lay in bed and enjoy the silence, each other's arms, we don't get this often.

I lay my head on his chest and he leans down to kiss my head.

"Goodnight love" he says

"Goodnight" I whisper back and we soon fall asleep.

I wake up and turn to expect Hero but he's not there. I get out of bed, use the bathroom, brush my teeth and head to check on Elle, shes also not in her room

I walk into the kitchen and see Hero has her in his arms as he flips pancakes.

A beautiful table is set with a feast of breakfast.

"Look peanut, mummy is awake" Hero says and she yells with excitement and reaches for me.

I grab her from Hero's arms and kiss Hero goodmorning.

"What's all this?" I ask

"Woke up early. Thought I would spend it with my little peanut here. She helped make all of this" he says and I turn to Elle and tickle her

"You helped daddy, make breakfast. That's my smart little girl" I say and she lays on me giggling.

I put her in her height chair at the table and help Hero finish up with grabbing cups and drinks.

We take a seat at the table and Elle wants to grab everything.

"Let mommy help you" I tell her and she continues to reach for things.

I put a pancake on her plate and break it into small pieces. That grabs her attention and she quickly starts to munch on her pancakes.

I grab Hero's hand and rub small circles on it.

"How's your mom" I ask

"She's doing good. They are on their way to Texas now" he says and I nod

"That's good" I say

"So what do you want to do today. We can go to the lake? Take a walk? Anything?" He asks

"Lake sounds nice" I say

"Lake it is then" he says

We enjoy our breakfast so does Elle as she has pancake covered all over her.

I grab a wipe and wipe her down, then get her ready for the lake.

I find baby bathing suits so cute. Elle has a striped one on and it looks so adorable on her.

I carry her to our room once in done changing her and set her on our bed with a toy to keep her busy while Hero and I get ready.

He walks out of the bathroom with his swim wear on and I can't help but wrap my arms around his waist.

"Thank you for the breakfast" I say

"Don't thank me. It was all Elle" he says and we laugh, looking over to our daughter.

I peck his lips and head to the bathroom to change.

I wear a simple one piece but as I walk out of course Hero finds me as the most beautiful person in the world.

"Jo, you're going to drive me crazy with that on" he says and I playfully slap his arm

"Shut up" I giggle

"I still have baby weight, whats so sexy about that" he says and holds me close

"Everything" he says tilting my head to look at his.

He puts a strand of hair behind my hair and leans down to kiss me. Our kiss is short and quick. We have Elle in the room.

I lay next to her and tickle her small feet.

"Ready for a swim peanut" I say to her and she giggles

I lift her in my arms and we head to the lake.

I step my foot onto the lake and wince at how cold it is.

"The lake brings back old times" Hero says, taking Elle from my arms and holding my hand as we walk into the cold lake together

"It sure does. I went from having the hugest crush on you while kissing you in a lake for a movie to becoming your wife, how amazing is that" I say and he kisses my head

"Best decision of my life" He says and Elle splashes the water, making us laugh.

"Good girl, you like the lake" I say in my very mommy voice

Hero holds her in the water and I carefully throw water on her, which only makes her laugh.

These are the moments I love and will hold in my heart forever. Times like these, just Hero, Elle and I, us as our little family.

Nothing could get better than that.
