Chapter 43

Jo pov

So the babies came a few weeks earlier than expected but they are so beautiful, so healthy.

They have been home for a week now. For the most part they stay asleep throughout the night but once one cries, they all cry.

I thought it would be weird to have Hero here as we watch the three newborns but it's been normal, we're just being parents and attending to our babies.

The baby monitor goes off and all the babies begin to cry.

I rub my eyes open and trip over Elle's toys that are all over my bedroom floor.

As I open the door, hero is also sleepily walking his way to the triplets room.

We have 2 beautiful baby girls and 1 handsome baby boy.

First we have Lily, she's the feistiest of them all. She's the first one up all the time.

Then there's Leah, who always has a smile on her face. Even when she's crying her eyes out.

Then our only baby boy, Liam, who is so caring, he always gives me the cutest cuddles.

I walk into the triplets room and pick up Liam. I lay his head on my shoulder and rock him while Hero holds the two girls in his hands.

Liam is so easy to rock back to sleep but his sisters are the complete opposite.

Once their up, their up for awhile.

I lay a sleeping Liam back in his crib and grab Leah from Hero while he rocks Lily back to sleep.

I smell Leah's diaper and realize she needs a changing.

I walk over to the changing table and change her diaper. Leah looks up at me with a smile.

That smile kills me, brightens me up every time.

"So this one is hungry, want to switch" hero asks, handing me lily and I nod as he finishes changing Leah's diaper.

I go back to my room and sit on a rocking chair while I feed lily.

"Wow you are hungry" I slightly giggle as Lily drinks.

I lay back and close my eyes as I breast feed and wait for her to finish.

"Leah is back down" hero says walking into my room.

"Good" I whisper as Lily begins to finish up on eating.

I pat her back and she let outs a few small burps.

"I can take her" hero says taking her from my arms

"Hello little one" hero whispers and kisses her cheek.

She whines a little in his arms and gently rocks the small baby in his arms.

We walk lily back to the room and place her back in her crib.

We quietly tip toe out of the triplets room and Elle is standing in the hallway outside her room with tears in her eyes.

"I can't sleep. I had a bad dream" Elle says

"Oh peanut, come here" I say scooping her into my arms

"I want to sleep with you" she says

"You can sleep with me" I say rubbing her back

"I want daddy to come too. I need the both of you" she says and I look up at hero

"Mommy and daddy have separate rooms now" I gently tell her

"But I miss mommy and daddy being together. I keep having bad dreams about you not being together. I want everything to go back to normal" she says

"Okay, daddy is coming. Let's go to bed" I say and she smiles

It kills me that this is killing Elle.

We get to my room and Elle jumps on my bed and ticks herself in.

Hero lays next to her and I get in on the other side. This is so weird. This feels like old times.

"Please get back together mommy and daddy" she says and I turn to hero and we look at each other with worried eyes.

What did we do to our daughter. We're hurting her and that hurts me the most.
