Chapter 24

Jo pov

"Okay wow this hurts" I say sitting up in my hospital bed.

The day has finally come where Hero and I can finally welcome our little girl into the world.

She's been healthy the whole pregnancy and she's full term. We couldn't ask for a better moment.

I'm ready to have this baby out of me already, the pain is nothing like I've experienced before.

"Just breathe love, you're doing so good" Hero says and I clutch my belly and scream.

"Get the doctor. I need all the medicine" I say and Hero brushes hair from my face

"He said it's too late for medicine. You're almost ready to push" Hero says gently and I begin to cry

"I'm in so much pain" I say and he rubs my back

"I know love but you're doing such a good job" he says and I get another pain.

I grab his hand and squeeze it while pain rushes through my body.

"I never want to do this again" I cry to Hero and he kisses my head

A nurse comes in and checks how I'm doing.

"We need you to calm down Josephine. Your blood pressure is slightly elevated" the nurse says and I lay my head back and try to breath

"Are you sure there's nothing I get for the pain" I say

"It's too late for any of that" she says

"But hang in there. You're doing great" she adds

"Thank you Ms" Hero says

I close my eyes and hold his hand.

"You're almost there love" he says rubbing my back

"Can you help me up" I whisper and he nods

He holds my waist as I step out of bed.

"I want to walk" I say and he stays by my side the entire time.

We walk through the hall and pass by other couples and exchange smiles.

"How are you feeling love" Hero ask

"It still hurts a lot" I say

I get a contraction and grab onto the railing built into the wall. I guess for this purpose.

"Ow" I wince, bending down to the floor but Hero holds me up.

"Do you want to go back to the room" he ask and I shake my head no

"I want to walk a little more" I say

We're getting ready to turn around when Anna steps off the elevator and onto the floor.

"Anna, hello" I say giving her my best smile

We called Anna because she's the closest thing we have to a mom right now. Hero and I's mom are making there way here as we speak, but we know how long of a flight this is for the both of them.

"Oh Jo, how are you doing" Anna asks

"Not so good" I say and squeeze Hero's hand as another pain comes

"She's having another contraction right now. My hand is paying for all of it" Hero says and I turn to him annoyed

"That better be a joke" I say and he nods

"Of course I'm joking love" he says kissing my head.

I don't think he was joking.

"How far are you" she asks
