DAYO DIDN'T RESPOND to her kiss, but he didn't pull away either. Tina broke the kiss and gave him a crooked half - smile. He wiped his lips with the back of his hands. "Where's your boyfriend?" he asked with a twisted grin.
Almost immediately her smile dropped. "I'm sure you've heard Jamal and I broke up," she said and looked away. Dayo didn't answer, so she continued. "I was such a fool for cheating on you. Dayo, I'm really sorry," she said.
"Get to the fucking point, Tina. What the hell do you want from me?" he asked.
Tina moved closer to him until their bodies touched. "I want you back, Dayo. Let's start where we left off," she said seductively, her soft lips brushing his ear.
Dayo smirked, his fingers trailing up her bare arms to her shoulder. He lifted her chin with his forefinger and looked straight into her eyes.
"You're a fucking whore," he said in a steely tone and pushed her away. Tina retreated till her back reached the wall, totally shocked by his words.
Tina was the only girl who'd ever heard the words, 'I love you' from his lips. She'd betrayed him by sleeping with his worst enemy. Damn her!
He left her standing there with nothing to say and went back to the club. "Fucking bitch," he muttered under his breath.
Dayo walked into the crowded room and noticed Eniola wasn't where he had left her. Scanning the room, he dialed her number but she didn't answer. He tried again. Why was she ignoring his calls?
Cursing, he walked up to the bartender. "Where is she?" he hastily. "She left just a few minutes ago," he said, his eyes trained on the drink he was mixing.
Dayo took off in a full sprint down the stairs, pushing his way through the crowd. The music faded behind him as he stepped outside. The front of the club was still very crowded because some people were still queuing to get in.
Catching sight of her, he made his way through the swamped cars in the parking area. Eniola was standing there by the roadside, trying to hail a cab.
Dayo walked towards her, calling her name, "Eniola!" Either she didn't hear him, or she did and simply chose not to answer.
"Why the hell didn't you pick up your phone?" he asked, with a little irritation in his voice. He grabbed her arm lightly and she jerked away from him.
Her eyes were burning with rage when she faced him. "Don't fucking touch me!" she yelled.
Dayo pulled his hands back and took a step backwards. "Let me guess you saw what happened back there," he said.
"You kept me waiting there while you were kissing another girl," she said, her voice cracking slightly.
Dayo cursed, lacing his hands behind his head. "I swear, Eniola. I didn't kiss her back," he said softly.
Anger flashed in her eyes. "And that makes it better? That was you sticking your tongue down her throat, not the other way around."
"Why are you making such a big deal out of this?" he asked, trying to keep the anger out of his voice. He wasn't in the mood for an argument.
Her anger spiked. "A big deal? You know what, I'm done talking to you, Dayo," she said, and tried to walk away.
Dayo quickly caught her arm and pulled her back to him. "Get into the car. I'm not leaving you here all by yourself," he said.
She tried to twist her arm free of his grasp, but his grip was too strong for her. "Let go of my hand," she groaned.
"You heard the girl, Dayo. Let go of her." Dayo turned at the sound of the voice and cursed under his breath.
What the fuck was he doing here?
