"Oppa, I love you all!" Y/n screamed in excitement, perched on her bed, illegally soaking in the BTS concert through some shady link. Living that international broke Army life, you know?

"Oh, not again!" she cursed when the live stream hit pause. Impatience hung thick in the air as she fervently waited for the concert to get back on track. "Hurry up!" she mumbled, eyes glued to the screen. After what felt like an eternity, the video finally resumed, and Y/n let out a sigh of relief.

"OMG!" Y/n exclaimed when her absolute favorite, 'Magic Shop,' started playing.

"You gave me the best of me, So you give you the best of you, Na na na na na naaaa," Y/n belted out, singing along with the boys.

Sure, her Korean wasn't on point, but it was light years better than OLI LONDON's attempt. Y/n was in the process of mastering Korean, not quite legit yet, but she could throw around words like 'Saranghae' (Love you), 'Anyeonghaseyo' (hello), 'Borahae' (Love you), 'Gamsahamnida' (Thank you), 'Annyeong' (bye), 'Gumao' (thanks), 'Miane' (sorry), 'Ani/aniyo' (no), and 'Ne' (yes).

Tears streamed down Y/n's face as she pulled out her earphones, realizing the concert had come to an end. She loved every second of it, but alas, all good things must end. With a heavy sigh, Y/n headed out to wash her face.

"Is the concert over?" Y/n's mom queried. "Yeah," Y/n replied, face still dripping.

"Why are you so obsessed with those 7 Chinese boys? Shouldn't you be focusing on your future instead of them? You'll end up regretting this one day, mark my words. They don't even know you exist, yet you're obsessed," her mom vented, clearly fed up.

"Firstly, they're Korean, not Chinese. Secondly, I won't regret it. They've given me the courage to chase my dreams, and I love them," Y/n retorted without even sparing her mom a glance. This conversation was a daily occurrence, and she had grown weary of justifying her love for those 7 Korean heartthrobs.

"But they've changed you, spoiled you!" Her mother's frustration echoed through the room. "No, Mom, they haven't spoiled me. I'm managing my own life. If my choices make me seem spoiled, then so be it," Y/n shrugged, newfound confidence oozing.

"Watch your tone, young lady. Do you even realize what you're saying? What will society think?" her mother tried a softer approach, hoping Y/n would reconsider.

"I don't care about society. My dreams have nothing to do with them. It's my dream, and I've decided I want to be a K-POP Idol," Y/n declared, slamming the door shut as she retreated back to her room.

"This girl is getting on my nerves. Let her figure it out on her own; maybe then she'll understand," her mom muttered, while Y/n settled on her bed, an angry frown etched on her face.

"Why'd you fight with Mom?" Y/n's sister, scrolling through Instagram, inquired after overhearing the clash.

"I didn't fight; I just stated the truth. She still cares too much about society but can't understand my passion for becoming an Idol," Y/n sighed, sharing her frustrations with her sister.

"Are you serious about this? There's a big chance you'll get rejected," her sister, though supportive, couldn't help but voice her fears.

"Yeah, a big chance to get rejected, but a small chance to get selected. Why think negative? I'm holding onto that small chance," Y/n replied, determination gleaming in her eyes.

"Look, Y/n, I won't be like Mom. It's your life, and you can decide, but think carefully. Is it about becoming an Idol or just meeting BTS? If it's the latter, you might regret it," her sister cautioned.

"I've researched the K-POP industry. It's not easy. Can you handle it? I worry about you," her sister admitted, concerned about Y/n's future.

"I know, sis, but I'm sure I want to be an Idol for my passion for music and dance. I'm not chasing BTS; I'm chasing my dream," Y/n reassured her sister.

"Okay then, I hope you choose the right path. I'll support you," her sister smiled, a mix of relief and pride in her eyes.

Y/n, lost in her thoughts, smiled back, ready to face the challenges that lay ahead.
