Chapter twenty two - Gummy bears

Mathew POV

I watched Maggie as she argued with her cousin Chloe whose now settled on my best friend car. I looked at her pure adoration and amused. She maybe feisty and strong but she still have soft spot of her.

"I am going to die if I don't eat it!" She said and I smile amusedly.

"No you're not! How many packets of gummy bears do you consumed everyday? I think you eat more than five packs. My goodness you're going to end up getting diabetes because of that candy!" Chloe said and I watched as how Margaret eyes turn to slit as she eyed her cousin.

"As if.. Shoo... !" She said while she wave her hand. "Cole drive now. My cousin is too nosy and noisy! You both go first ok? Might as well you both go to date!" She said and I can't help laughing.

Cole give her a salute hand and started to drive while Chloe still protesting and keep shouting to us, not to let Margaret buy gummy bears. She just flipped off her cousin and stick her tongue out.

"Come on let's go!" She said as she unconsciously dragged my arms towards the store.

As we enter the store, I saw some girls looking at us. Some are sneakily throws a flirt eyes on me. I only smiled in return but didn't give them a vibe that I am interested on them. since my sole focus on the girl with me whose now busily grabbing some packets of gummy bears.

After being satisfied everything she put in the basket. She went to the cashier area. I went immediately as I give my credit card to the cashier. She looked at me confused.

"It's ok I pay for this!" I said to her. I put the Doritos and ice creams on so I can pay it all.

"No it's ok! It's mine anyway!" She said as she give me her money. I wave my hand as I refuse to take her money.

"No it's ok! I was the one who offer to go here!" I said to her as I hold the plastic bags in my hands.

"I can carry that since you're the one who paid!" She said as she extended her hands.

I am tempted to hold her hands but I choose not to since I don't want her to think that I am not gentleman.

"Definitely not a good thing. You're a girl, it's my job to carry things!" I said to her.

She scrunch her nose and stomp her foot.

"Urrg I hate gentleman guys!" She mumble and I raised my brows on her.

"Why is that?"

"I feel useless here!" She whined while looking at me.

I give her one pack of gummy bears so she can eat it.

"How about you eat it. I love seeing you eating it!"

"Huh? She looked at me dumbfounded.

"What?" I asked innocently

"You looked at me when I eat this?" She said while chewing now the candy.

"Yup! It might sound creepy but I love the looked of your face when you eat it. It's like you won a lottery!" I said to her. I keep emphasis the word love as I want to send idea to her about my feelings.

"You're weird!" She commented.

I laughed at her comment.

"It's not everyday you can see a beautiful girl eating a pack of gummy bears. Usually girls are more concerned over make up and stuff!" I said as I opened the door for her.

"I wear makeup you know!" She said.

"Yeah but not like those girls!" I said as I started to drive.

"I can't understand you!' she said while settled on her seat.

"There's a water bottle in the plastic bag, you can drink it!" I said to her as I saw her finishing her candy.

"Thank you, that's what I need right now!" She said as she opened the lid of the bottle and drink the water on it.

I parked my car and went to her side to open her door. I am glad she didn't beat me to it.

"Mat I told not to let her buy that gummy bear!" Chloe said as she looked at the both of us then her eyes shifted to the plastic bag I carried.

"Its ok! I mean she loves to eat it.!"

"She always love to eat it!"

"Why are you so against me eating my favorite food?" Margaret argued as she looked at Chloe.

"You can't even call it food. It's a candy not food!"

"But still it's a food!" She said.

My goodness these two girls tend to argue a lot.

"That's ok girls. How about let's go inside? " I told them. Making them shut their mouth.

"Sorry!" Chloe said softly.

"That's ok no need to say sorry!" Cole said to her.

"Awwww how sweet!" Margaret teases them.

"Shut up Mag!" Chloe shushed her.

"What? I didn't do anything?" She asked innocently.

"Let's go so we can start the project!" I said as I dragged Margaret with me cause there's no end to there arguments.

As we settled inside my room. We began to discuss what will we do to shorten our work. So we divide into two pairs. Obviously the two girls can't work together since they will just argue all the time. Which good thing for us..I don't mind at all.

"So Chloe and Cole will work on designing while me and Margaret will do the research and compiled it!" I said to them.

They all nodded there head except for one. I sat beside her and looked at her.

"You ok?" I asked her.

"Hmm!" I frown at her answered.

"You're not ok!' I said to her.

"I'm just sleepy!" She yawned and I smiled.

This girl can be feisty but sometimes she can be cute too.

"You can sleep, I will do the rest of the work!" I said to her softly as I patted my bed for her to lay down.

"Really?" She asked me but her eyes are now close.

"Hmmm now lay down. I don't want you to doze there while sitting!" I said to her.

"Thank you!" She smiled to me.

A genuine kind of smile. A smile that melted my heart and boy I think I'm in trouble.
