Margaret POV

My schedule has been really hectic. From the start down to my last two hours I felt like my energy was draining out from my body. But I had to put up and be strong since it's my choice of job.

The phone emergency has been blaring blasting I don't know. But it seems like a huge accident happened. I just wonder who since this hospital tends to treat people differently when it comes to status.

I run my hands through my hair as I pull out my rubber band and tie my hair as well as possible.

The head doctor in charge of the emergency nodded at me when she noticed I'm already inside. I went immediately to her.

"What's the matter?" I asked her.

"Well, the son of a senator got into an accident. And I need you to do the impossible for this. He's losing a lot of blood and has so many wounds all over his body. We need to check so I need you to help me!" She said to me as we walked to the body of the patient whose body is now laying.

My breath hitch as I saw him once again. The guy who broke my heart is now in front of me again.

I have been hearing him a lot even though I don't want to keep updated about it. It's hard since he's one of the most popular quarterbacks in the FHL and of course who wouldn't know the son of the senator and popular fashion designer?

He has always talked of the town. Especially his little escape every night. I don't know but he is not the same guy I dated before. He's been playing with so many girls and throwing them away like garbage when he already used them.

I huffed as I ready myself to work. I mean I should not mix my work with some personal issues. I ought to save lives anyway. It's even hard for me to do this.

After a few hours, we were able to pull the hill off from critical condition. We were able to stop the bleeding, especially on his head. Some glass stock on his shoulder was a good thing it didn't reach on his organs.

"I want you to be the one to handle him. You are one of the good doctors here in our hospital. The family is outside. They personally ask me to have the best doctor for their son. And I know you're the best on this field so I recommend you!" She said and I shook my head.

"No, Lily, I think you should replace me with Mark. Anyway I already pulled him off from critical thinking so Mark can do the job!" I said as I tried to act normal even though deep inside a voice would say no that's not a good idea at all.

"Come on! It's a good opportunity Mags, just take it ok?" She said and walked away leaving me speechless with no other options but to take it.

I went out of the room and I saw Lily talking to someone. I know since that person is way too familiar to me. I can never forget that face. When my eyes met her the hurt I was feeling I thought was buried for six years surfaced and I tried to remind myself that this is work, nothing personal.

I stroll towards them as Lily points at me. She nodded at me and looked at Mrs. Allison who's looking twice as flustered as me.

"This is Doctor Maggie. She's very good at her work. Don't worry about your son, she's in good hands. I can assure you that doctor Maggie here can help him!" She said, Well what she didn't know won't hurt her anyway.

I glanced at Mrs. Allison who's looking at me. She looked at me with an unexplainable face. She looked flustered and smiled hesitantly at me. I stop myself from raising my brows. Why? I never thought this woman could smile at me? Yeah seriously!!

"Hi, I'm Maggie. You're son is out of danger now. But we need to wait for him to wake up. For now rest assured that he is ok!" I said as I tried it cool. Pretending that I don't know her.

"Thank you!" She said and smiled at me. I almost laughed sarcastically at her.

I nodded my head and told Lily that I will head first since I need to go home. I know my little girl is waiting patiently for me. My phone keeps buzzing non stop. She really hates it when I work over time. If only she knew the reason why I work over time now. But I will be damn sure to tell her.

For now, we are both happy and content. I don't want her to know about her father. She didn't ask about him anyway.

I pulled out my phone from my pocket and expectedly had a few calls and texts from her. At her age she's very good. Her teacher often told me that she's very smart and intelligent. She must have inherited her father's genes.

I pressed the call button of my phone and it took two rings for her to answer.

"Mommy!" She answered enthusiastically.

"Baby girl, how are you?" I ask her.

"I am fine. I am a very good girl today, you can ask grandpa about it. And oh I got three stars on my drawing. My teacher said that I did a great job!" She said and I can picture her smiling proudly at me.

"Yeah really? That's a great baby girl!" I said as I can't help but to smile.

"Are you on the way home Mommy?" She asked me.

"Yeah! I am actually on my way to my car. I just called you to tell you that I'll be home in a minute now!" I said as I hopped in the driver seat.

"Yehey! I will wait for you mommy! Drive safely ok? I will hang up now. I don't want you to get into an accident by talking to me on your phone. Love you mom!" She said and hung up.

I smiled , my daughter is so talkative that you can't tell her age. Some people mistakenly asked me about her age. They thought that she's ten years old.
