CHAPTER SIXTY THREE - PARTY

MARGARET POV

I have plans with Chloe today. Guess what? She married Cole and had two children. What seems to be shocking is that the shy and conservative cousin of mine is no longer there. Instead I am a confident and badass one. So happy that she's finally gaining her confidence.

So she invited me to go to this party. Since she has a sort of connection as she's venturing on her own line of cosmetics. She even gave me her limited edition of makeup.

Sofia will be with her father and his parents. His parents are so happy that they will have her for the whole night. They even told me not to pick her up early since they want to spend more time with her. Sofia loves her grandparents so much. Now I know where she got her talent in drawing.

She even shows her grandma her drawing of a girl in a dress. Which her grandma adores so much and said that she will include it on her new collection. She can't stop blabbering that finally she has someone who will inherit her business. She even secretly whispered to me to have more kids with her son's. I looked at her in horror.

I can't believe she's the one who's pushing me now to her son. It's like a 360 degree turn of events. She said that she doesn't want to see her son being hopeless anymore. Both her and her husband have a problem with Matthew since he keeps replacing women. Which they don't like. Now they are happy seeing him very happy. They said one time they spotted him in the kitchen baking cookies.

It's funny how that guy wants to learn how to bake since his daughter has a huge fantasy of sweet foods. And she prepared home bake. I guess he's a doting father to her.

Back to the party. I parked my car in front of the building. I am not used to attending parties ever since I became a doctor. I always spend my time in hospital and home only.

As I entered Chloe spotted me immediately and she walked excitedly to me.

"I am so happy you made it!" She said,

"What are you drinking Chloe? Is it too early for that?" I asked her as I spotted the vodka on her hand.

"Shhhh.. don't worry my husband will come and pick me up. Hahahaha.. that guy I swear doesn't want me to go but I love to keep my connection!" She said and I nodded at her.

"Come on, let me introduce you to my friends!" She said and dragged me to the middle of the party.

Then she introduced me to everyone. I lost count on how many people she introduced me to. After a quiet moment I excused myself and went to the bathroom.

I hurriedly went inside and did my business. Just as I am about to go out. I heard a few giggles of women outside.

"Kendall, how are you and Matthew now? Is it true that he broke up with you?" One of the girls said.

"Nah… he always acted like that. I swear he can't keep a week without me. That guy knows I am the only one that satisfies his hunger!" She said and all of them laughed.

I shake my head at what I heard. I never thought I would bump with Matthew's girlfriend.

"Let's go girls!" Kendall said and I sigh in relief.

I went outside immediately and I saw Chloe still drinking. I swear if she keeps doing this she end up drunk.

"Come on Mags let's drink. I missed you so much!" She said and I smiled.

"I still can't believe you didn't contact me. After your mom died I never saw again. I thought you already forgot me. Good thing that guy Matthew visited my husband yesterday and he can't stop talking about you. When I look at him now he looks the same way back as the old Matthew, gone the playboy aura!" She said and I juts shrugged my shoulders.

"So you and him? Are you a thing now?" She asked me and my eyes turned wide.

"No! I don't want any relationship now. I want to concentrate on work and my daughter only!" I said as I took a sip of vodka since she offered it to me. I winch as I feel the taste on my tongue.

"Seriously? Poor Matthew then. He can't stop thinking about you. Cole said that he was whipped and he answered, ''I don't care!"

"Don't know! I don't want to expect anything from him. It's enough for me to see him with our daughter!"

"Speaking of, she looked like him, right? Hahahah.. it's like you're seeing a girl version of Matthew. Oh I can't wait to see you in the VIP lounge in one of the game.!"

"Don't know!"

"Oh come on. You should come. You will see how good your man is on the field!" She said while giggling.

"He's not my man Chloe!"

"Not for now!!" She wink playfully at me.

"Stop it!"

"Fine, fine! Stop hitting!" She said and we toast again.

Then we talked about other things. How we used to be the total opposite of each other. Her relationship with Cole and his family. She shared everything about her and her family. While I do mine. We did catch up for the many years that we were apart.

I didn't notice the time and how much alcohol I already intake. My vision got blurry and my head spinning like I see two heads. I hold my head trying to steady myself.

I can't drive in my situation now. I will end up in the hospital for sure. Chloe on the other hand has already passed out. I saw her phone rings and I answered it in behalf.

"Babe?" Cole voices the other side.

"Margaret Cole and Chloe have already pass out!" I said to him,

I heard him cursing and I giggled.

"Are you also drunk?"

"What? No?" I said but more on the question.

"Hahahaha… don't deny it. You never giggle like that!"

"I guess I am! Shit I need to call my dad. I will hang up now Cole!"

"Wait wait, why are you calling your dad?"

"To pick me up duh!"

"You surely are drunk. His on vacation right? Matthew said that!"

"Oh shit!" I cursed. I smack my head for being stupid.

"Don't worry Matthew is here with me. He will gladly take you home!" He said and I groaned in protest.

"Oh no! Don't tell him. Can you just pick me up with Chloe?"

"Hahahahah.. sorry but I am a very loyal friend. And my friend here is like a lovesick puppy who can't stop talking about you!"

"Bye Mags please take care of Chloe. We will be right there any minute!" He said and hung up.
