RIGHT NOW EVERYONE FROM A-Troupe and B-Troupe are all rushing into the studio to get ready for the auditions.
"Get focused, okay? This is serious stuff. A-Troupe auditions." Kate announces.
All of us dancers are just warming up; most of us either want to stay in our original spots or join. I mean, it's the only group that actually goes to regionals. Plus, there are scouts in the audience, and I, for one, am not like Daniel, who's trying to get scouted, but I know that Daniel is someone who would definitely get scouted.
"Kate makes us re-audition every year; "no spot is guaranteed."
𖧷𖧷𖧷
"Dolphin tale." Chris roars while waving his hand in the air, making a dolphin-like sound. "That dancers, is the first dolphin tale of the year; congratulations."
"So, let's begin auditions for A-Troupe." Kate says, and everyone responds with claps of excitement.
"There's only eleven spots on A-Troupe; just because of competition, you need eleven dancers."
I was talking to West and Eldon about the auditions and how we feel about them. "Honestly, I don't think we should worry that much, Noelle. We've been here before; we've got this." Eldon says, giving me a confidence boost.
"All right, dancers, let's do this. In group one, I have Daniel, West, Emily, and Stephanie." Ms. Kate says I cheered on West since he's one of my best friends.
"Okay, Daniel, you're up first." Daniel starts his free round solo, and if I could put it in one word, it would be perfect. His turns are on point, and his legs are so perfectly stretched.
The last person to dance was Emily. Yes, she's a good dancer, but last year all the dances showcased her, and I'm hoping this year she's not all about sass and more about the dancing.
"That's one. In group two, we have Beth, Riley, Charlie, and Chloe." "Good luck, Clo." I tell Chloe. "Thanks Elle." I watched Chloe get into her position. I truly do hope that Chloe makes it into A-Troupe because, although she may be in the E-Girls, she and Riley are the only nice ones who talk to me and everyone else.
As we all watch Beth dance, she starts off really strong but messes up halfway through, and we don't want someone messing up on the regional stage, so her falling definitely cost her. "That's gonna cost her." Daniel says to West and I. "For sure," West says.
"This is a very competitive group; we go to Regionals and we go up against amazing studios who have not one dancer messing up, so it's like you can't have that."
Beth goes back into the line, scratching her head in embarrassment. Ms. Kate calls Riley's name, and Riley's doing amazing; her style of dance just brings a different type of energy to the floor.
The last person to go was Chloe. Chloe is very balletic and technical, which is a phenomenal style. I know for a fact that she has been trying to get into A-Troupe for a while. Let's just say I have a feeling she's going to make it.

"Ok, final group. We have James, Noelle, Eldon, and Giselle." Everyone claps, for we are the final group of the day, until this blonde girl walks in and says, "The auditions are in here, right?"
"Everyone take five." Kate says as she walks towards the new girl. Kate, Chris, and the new girl had moved to Kate's office. I'm guessing they're talking about her auditioning.
"So we're going to go back to group four, this time with Michelle. So, again, that's James Noelle, Eldon, Giselle, and Michelle, who is from Wisconsin, and she's auditioning for A-Troupe." Ms. Kate says, walking back to the centre. I look at Michelle, I feel like I've seen her face before but can't place it. I can't focus too much on Michelle because, right after James, it's my turn.
"I've been dancing with The Next Step since I was three, and I dance because it's like my stress relief; it's the one thing that I strive to do every day that I can. Plus, every time I went to class, I would fall more in love with it."
Michelle was the last dancer, and she's crazy good; it could be possible that she takes someone's spot on A-Troupe.
"I don't know who this Michelle girl is, but she's amazing."
Everyone clapped as we finally finished our auditions. "So Chris and I are gonna go and talk about your auditions, and we'll be back with a decision in a few minutes."
As Kate and Chris were in the office discussing who would be the new members on A-Troupe, most of us were circling Michelle and asking her questions about her dance background.
"All right dancers!" Chris shouts, getting everyone's attention, "You guys were phenomenal; you were amazing. I can tell you put so much energy, effort, and discipline into that. Remember, if you don't make it this year, there's always next year."
Everyone runs up to the clipboard looking for their own name, and as I'm looking for mine, I see that...
