THE STUDIO IS COMPLETELY
divided. We have Elite on one side and The Next Step on the other. It's the day of the competition and I can practically feel the tense atmosphere.

"Everyone clearly wants this so bad."

Kate, Phoebe and Lucien walk out of the office, standing in between both teams. "All right, you guys! It's time for the competition." Kate announces. I can tell by the look on her face she isn't ready to see some of us go.

We all go to the side closest to us before staring each other down. "All the names have been placed in the hat."

"Anyone's name could be pulled, no matter what team you're from."

Phoebe places her hand in a red fedora. "Hunter." She calls, reading the paper. We clap for the boy in the blue hat as he walks up towards Phoebe.

Hunter puts his hand into the hat to pick his opponent. Hunter unfolds the paper, looking shocked. "Eldon." He says, choked up as Elite 'ohs'.

"Alright, you guys have an hour to rehearse, and then we'll come back and compete." Kate tells them.

"Eldon and Hunter have had a feud before. I guess this is the final battle."

It isn't long before Eldon and Hunter are back fully prepared, but it is bittersweet. No matter what, The Next Step is getting a point, but at the cost of another teammate.

"Round one, let's do it." Lucien chuckles as Eldon and Hunter hug before Hunter takes the floor first.

Hunter starts his dance on the floor before starting his routine. Hunter is really pulling out all his best moves and even incorporates his iconic head slide.

Hunter jumps up, crossing his arms over each other as the music ends. I cheer for the boy as he comes back over and Eldon walks to the corner of the floor.

Immediately, Eldon whips out back handsprings and just uses the music's flow to manipulate his body movements.

"He's practically perfect." I tell James as he nods in response with a big smile for his friend.

Towards the end of his dance, Eldon does countless pirouettes and spins before throwing up the peace sign.

"Okay," Kate says as the two boys meet at the centre of the floor. "Do we have a clear winner? On the count of three, everyone points to who you think should be on the team." Kate explains.

My heart breaks slightly for whoever doesn't make it. Having everyone vote against or for you doesn't exactly sound good if you have to watch a friend leave.

Kate counts down and unanimously we all point towards Eldon.

"Eldon. You're on the Internationals team. You are officially the second dancer. I'm so sorry Hunter." Kate says as Hunter and Eldon hug one last time.
