WE'RE ALL IN STUDIO-A AWAITING
Kate to give us the okay to start rehearsals. "You guys, listen up." She calls. "It's time for us to officially declare the dancers on our Internationals team. I need to make sure that we do not have a repeat of last year."

I glance over at Chloe, trying to see some sort of reaction, but she's blank. "Which means, I need to make sure that every single one of you is 100% committed to Internationals." Kate continues as we shake our heads.

"Great, I'll get on this. You guys keep warming up." Kate smiles, going back to her office. Chloe finally looks at me and I can see the guilt eating her up.

"I don't want Chloe to feel like she's letting us down."

During rehearsals, we called for a break, and I joined Chloe and West for a walk. Mostly because I wanted to know where Chloe's head was at."So? Have you made a decision about the offer with the touring company?" West asks, breaking the silence.

"I don't know. I'm so confused." She huffs out.

"Confused? Chloe, the reason why we're at The Next Step is to get professional jobs when we're done. This is what's happening." He tells her.

I haven't really thought about what happens after The Next Step. It's always been a constant for me. But I know if I was in Chloe's position, I'd take the opportunity.

"He's right, Chlo. You're one of the best ballet dancers in this studio. There's a reason they chose you." I add.

"I guess." She shrugs, still unsure.

"Look at me," West grabs her shoulders, making us stop. "This is with one of the most prestigious dance companies in the world. I have no idea why you're not jumping at the chance."

"Well, I made a commitment to The Next Step and how cool would it be to say that we won Internationals?" She tries to reason.

"You see, I don't know if you're right." West sighs out.

"Chloe, create a pros and cons list. Write everything down and leave nothing out." I tell her.

"She's right. That's exactly how I decided about skydiving." West adds.

"Well, what did you do?" She asks.

"There were absolutely no pros, it was all cons." He answers as I nudge his arms.

"Not helping." I say as we continue walking.

Coming back to the studio, I left my friends to go check on Richelle, just to see how things were going in B-Troupe.

B-Troupe is a big jump from J-Troupe and I know Richelle can hold her own and keep up with everyone, but I don't want her to be constantly pushing herself until she's burnt out.

"Richelle," I call entering the Music room. She's sitting on the floor facing away from me and I can tell she's upset. "What's wrong?"

I met her level, seeing a big frown on her face. "What happened? Did you hurt yourself?" I ask worriedly.

She shakes her head, sniffling. "It's about Noah." She confesses. I close my eyes briefly, looking at her solemnly. "He likes Abi, and I like him."

"Richelle," I say softly. "I'm sorry, but Noah's not the only guy out there."

"But why couldn't he just- why couldn't I have what you and James have?" She asks, looking up at me with big glassy eyes.

I sigh deeply, pulling her into a hug. "You're gonna find your guy. You're still young, you've got time."

After talking with Richelle, I met back with West and Chloe at Hidalgos to evaluate her list. West takes hold of the paper as I read it beside him and if this list isn't the longest thing I've read in a while.

"Wow, you even have, like, little doodles and stuff on this," West comments, making me giggle.

"I can tell you've worked hard on it." I add as West crumbles the paper up, throwing it behind him.

"West!" Chloe shouts. "I worked really hard on that."

"Chloe, listen, get real, okay? The Nutcracker is your dream and you know it." He explains as Chloe looks away, pouting. "Come on, sugar plum fairy."

A small hand reaches out in front of West, slamming the crumpled paper on the table. "West, no littering." The young girl, Margie, says. "Hi Chloe, Hi Noelle." She says, smiling brightly at us.

"Hi Margie." I reply to the girl who is taking baby ballet.

"You should listen to her, don't litter." Chloe sneers, holding the paper in front of West's face, who looks confused.

I watch Chloe look back at Margie, and from what I know, Margie has always been there for Chloe. "Talk to her." I tell her, gesturing to the girl sitting with her friends.

Chloe looks at me, not understanding, before looking back at the young girl. "If anyone's getting to you, it's her." I add. Chloe nods, acceptingly, as she walks up to the girl.

"I hope Margie can convince Chloe to choose her dreams."
