IN STUDIO-A, WE ARE ALL STANDING at the benches as what looks like tap dancers are standing in the middle, warming up.
"Hey guys," Kate greets, walking out of her office. "I just wanted to let you know that I have submitted all of your names to the Nationals board."
So this is it; no more changes or anything. Just us and Nationals.
"So that means there'll be no more additions or substitutions; this is the official team going to Nationals." We all clap in accomplishment. "And as a special surprise, actually, West, why don't you take it away?"
"Alright, thanks, Ms. Kate. I'd like to introduce you guys to some of my tapper friends; they'll be doing a performance for you guys today." West explains.
I love when the studio allows us to bring in other kinds of styles to the studio. It allows us to become more aware of other styles.
"So, how's the duet coming along?" I ask James, who was standing beside Riley, who takes this as her cue to let us talk.
"It's alright; I'd much rather have it with you." He answers, peering down at me and taking my hand.
"So nothing weird-"
"Right, start with the blue one, Minnow, please." The man says cutting me off. I turn around to see two grown men walking up to Eldon.
"Absolutely Zoltan." The shorter guy says, getting closer to Eldon.
"I'm thinking, start with this arm and this arm; make sure they match." The guy points to Eldon's shoulder. Then they started talking about Michelle becoming a butterfly.
"Who are you?" Emily asks, getting into the taller man's face.
"Are you the mouthpiece of the group? Is that what this is? You're quite cheeky, you know." I can't tell if he's insulting Emily or not. "I know your type, but you're asking the wrong question. It's not who I am? It's when I am, and when am I Minnow?"
"Right now." The man said this beside Talia.
"I don't know what to think of right now, but all I do know is that this is funny."
James starts laughing from beside me, triggering both of us. "Something funny over here? Hey sweatpants, is that it, something making you laugh? Am I a comedian to you?" Zoltan says walking closer to us.
"He's not a comedian. You should dump him." Minnow says to me with a measuring tape in hand, My eyes widen as I look up at James, scared.
"Are you dating this guy?" Zoltan asks me, pointing to James. "He's one of those don't even worry about it types, right?" I nodded, answering him.
"That British guy nailed James' personality to a tea, I'm amazed."
"Don't worry, kids, today's a good day. Today's the day that's gonna change the rest of your days." Zoltan says this in the middle of the room, not looking at any of us.
