Steven and the gems ran quickly to the hill where the house and it's parts crashed on. And the damages was pretty big, their fight with Malachite sure was tough, well the same way it was with the last one.
On that island, it was a close call but no one died...well except maybe some watermelons which then was followed by the cluster. This time it may not be without worse casualties either
Peridot : Ouh my stars ouh my stars!
Lapis : I hope they are okay!
Steven : Please don't say it in like that! It doesn't help!
Bismuth : Now people chill out and look for them!
They all run off searching through the rubble of the destroyed house which is scattered all around the the entire beach
Steven : Connie! Are you here?!
Peridot searcehs through her scanners, finding signal of one life form somewhere under the rubble
Bismuth : It seems Peridot found one of...Lapis?
When she looked for Lazuli gem, she was standing still and didn't turn around to the sound, she didn't look well
Bismuth : Uhm I'll down and you see who is there
Bismuth jumps down, walking towards Lapis as she asks "Are you okay? I also worry for them but this won't-!"
As she looks at Lapis, her face was creeped out with her eyes shrunk as well as her form trembling
She slowly pointed towards the the rubble in front of her
Bismuth didn't waste any time and lifted it up, and what she seen was not a pretty image
...
It soon starts to rain around here as it rolls of Peridot
Peridot : Hmm it does feel relaxing... Aaand here!
Peridot sees her telekinetic powers to move the rubble out of the way, to find none other than Jamie
His condition however left alot to be desired. He was laying on the ground, his shirt somewhat torn and pieces of glass pierced through his left shoulder
Peridot : Oh no are you okay? Jamie!?
Peridot picks him up as she inspects the wound, it's not deep but if not treated he'll eventually lose blood
Peridot : ...I hope Steven's healing powers will help again... Where is he now?
Her eyes fell again on at Jamie's face, saddened "...You really should stop getting into these kind of situations with us..."
She then notices Otar's portal door which seems to be still active "This thing again...it seems like it still operates on sem level but the rain doesn't help. Need to come back for it later"
She places Jamie on her platform, flying off to the beach house
...
For a moment he thought like he heard something
"Connie? Are you here?! Are you al...right?"
Steven's words got stuck in his mouth as he stares at what is apparently his friend Connie
One of her eyes was deep red, as her forehead bleeded and her body was trembling in an excrutiating amount of pain and it mostly came from a long iron cane stick right through her stomach which has blood pouring from within and reaching her spine
Connie called out to Steven, her voice was so soft and weak that it sounded like whispering "H-hey Steven...Please give me my sword"
Her sword was thrusted in the wall nearby but Steven was just too terrified to do anything, he was frozen in place at the sight of brised and bloodied Connie who then shouts at him in a loud and heartwrenching way
'STEVEN THERE IS NO TIME! QUICKLY GIVE ME THE SWORD! NOW"
Steven snaps out of his horrified state, after which he is handing her the sword
She grabs it, then slices off the front part of the cane and clunches her teeth from what she was about to do next
With all her remaining strength, she pulls and drags herself quickly off the cane with her insides severly damaged
She screamed out in agony and pain, her voice now is more like an intensified shriek much to Steven's mental horror
"GRAAAAAAAH!" She screams out yet again before falling down
Steven holds her in his arms as she desperately grabs his head and pulls him into the deep kiss for a long moment
As she lets go of him, she manages to stand up seemingly all healed now althoguh the blood on her still remained
Beforehand she breathed pretty heavily, but now she gets her voice back in check
"Wooh thanks for the heal up Steven" She smiles back at him and he felt like his heart could not bare such a sight "U-uhm yeah right"
"That sure was rough, come on. Can't let the others wait can we?"
She laughs it off as if nothing happened, understably
As she makes her way, Steven looks at his hand and the blood
And at tha very moment, deep within him something stirred and a single question haunted his mind 'H-how could I let this happen?'
...
Bismuth : Otar are you okay now?
Otar ( coughs blood ) : I will be in a few more minutes, this isn't the first time I was in this kind of mess...sorry for making the scene there
Lapis didn't say anything, staring at him cautiously like he was about to do something ...off
"What even was that?"
Otar didn't necessarily like this state either but like he said, it isn't the first nor the last time for him. He remembered that once some idiots chased after him when seeing his...damaged form
"Well I ahd a metal cane in my shoulder and leg...I tried to move out but then the rest fell onto me somewhat flammable and well you've seen what happened"
He has his face and body now covered by his torn jacket for it wasn't yet healed and was qite disturbing...it was itching however
Bimusth : Uuhm yeah, haha... glad you're alright now at least
Otar : ... You have no idea
Right then Peridot calls out to them
"Everyone meet at the beach house!"
...
And here it goes again, typical guilt...added to Steven's already darkening mental issues. As for Otar part, well he is a scientist too and not all of his experiments are...harmless.
