CHAPTER 51
—————

Jina ran to the main door. The sound of cars arriving giving her as much hope as she was capable of feeling after reading those letters.

She watched as the black Benz parked in the garage as well as Jaehyun's Porsche Panamera. Her hopeful eyes awaiting her best friend to come out of either of them, but instead her heart sank. She felt it crack once when she saw only Mark come out of the Benz and she felt it shatter when only Jaemin walked out of the Porsche. But the worst was the feeling of reconciliation with the fact that she was gone. Because she knew it. She expected it, but she kept refusing to accept it.

Mark and Jaemin, with no words spoken and heads hanging low walked up to her. Both of their eyes holding as much disappointment as her teary dark chocolate brown ones. She stuck the side of her lip between her teeth, trying her best to hold back the tears when she spoke up with so brittle voice, they could barely hear her. "She's gone again, isn't she..." She almost whispered, kind of answering to herself instead of asking them.

For the first time in a while Mark felt like being the one to apologise. His mind has been busy replaying every single one of his actions while him and Jaemin were asking every single person they saw if they'd seen a pale skinny sick-looking girl with long black hair and sage green eyes. Now he took a deep breath, trying himself to reconcile with Soji's disappearance once more.

He put his hands on Jina's shoulders while the girl stubbornly searched his eyes for a positive answer she knew she wouldn't get. It was obvious, Soji didn't come back with them. Yet the teary eyed girl needed to hear anything to finally give up hope for the day. After all it was past midnight, they've been searching every angle of the city for hours with every single one of NCT's people except Dayeon who was told to keep Jina from leaving the house which according to her current unstable state and her refusing to eat or drink and sleep again, wasn't a very good idea.

And everyone already got back, except for Mark and Jaemin who returned last, when the streets of Seoul were completely empty of people to ask.

Now that he was back with his mind completely reset, Mark stood in front of the redhead with the most sincere look he had shown in his whole life, mumbling the most heartfelt "I'm sorry..." then pulling in a tight hug the sobbing mess of a red haired girl.

The morning came fast, considering everyone in the mansion had gone to sleep late in the night and got up at dawn again. Jina being up between the first few.

The brunette girl was an early bird since forever, so it wasn't weird that she was up helping for the breakfast preparation every morning. For a change the leader was there as well even though he used to be one of those who arrived last for breakfast.
