CHAPTER 33
—————

"Soji just wear the red one for once, don't bother us with these things."

So I ended up wearing the black dress, opposing Haechan’s opinion. Even though a change would be nice, red didn’t quite suit me when I had my hair down because of its colour. Besides, I always did the opposite of what the grey haired would tell me. It was my nature.

As soon as we made it to the club, I separated from the group I came with. The leather jacket I wore ended up thrown at Mark before I even reached the entrance, I wasn’t going to carry that everywhere.

With the first step inside, I already calmed down completely. The familiar scent of everything bad mixed up in one room was enough to make me smile. Cigarettes, alcohol, sweat, even drugs and weed, all of that was common in here.

My favourite spot in the wide airless room and the first one I visited— the bar; it was located in the middle of the club and I knew this one like the back of my hand. It was a huge circle with a few bartenders inside and a lot of drinks. White and yellow neon lights were dimly lighting it up from above while people constantly approached, took their drinks and disappeared in the crowd.

I did the same, ordered two glasses of whiskey, smiled thankfully at the bartender and made my way to my gang's usual spot— a booth on the second floor of the club, right by the golden fence where the whole dancefloor could be watched over.

The whiskey from one of the glasses disappeared on my way, once I reached the booth I ended up leaving an empty glass on the table before I sat down next to Mark, legs crossed one over the other before I took the first sip of the second glass. The ravenette wrapped his arm around my shoulders, his head leaned on the bracket while his eyes stayed locked on me for a while. The usual unreadable look with a small hint of mockery stood on his face once I glanced at him.

It didn’t took me too long to blush and look away. A short black-and-white flashback from earlier made me drink the rest of the whiskey in one sip and pour myself another shot, although I wasn’t sure where did the bottle of whiskey come from. A lot of “Whoa, Ji slow down!” reactions were shot my way, my fast drinking and easily getting drunk abilities were always fun for Jisung and Chenle. Jeno and Renjun didn’t seem any less entertained by joking with me while Jungwoo only shook his head with the usual disappointment covering his face. Jina and Haechan weren’t even around or else Hyuck would definitely be the one to bully me the most. Meanwhile Jaemin...

Na Jaemin had his light, yet empty eyes locked on me with nothing more or less than a serious expressionless face, making me more uncomfortable than the mere flashback that crossed my mind seconds ago. For a single moment of hesitation I let myself feel guilty although I didn’t have a reason to be and I cut off the eye contact almost immediately, pushing Mark's arm off of my shoulders.
