CHAPTER 63
—————

I stood on the balcony of Sunwoo's apartment. It was already past lunch time when Jennie and I arrived, but we hadn't eaten anything almost the whole day since we took off. I felt my stomach grumble as I leaned on the glass fence trying to ease my hunger with a cigarette until the pizza we ordered arrives.

My eyes scanned the familiar surroundings. The street I used to walk down every day was now below me after a pretty long time. The school yard was just around the corner too. I didn't know Sunwoo lived so close to the school until now. How lucky.

I sighed, releasing a heavy breath of lungs-full of Seoul's air with a sight glued to a group of high schoolers passing by. Their laughter reaching me all the way to the sixth floor, making me get jealous for a moment. Not just because I was a literal school dropout, but I saw myself in them with Jina, Haechan, Chenle, Jisung. The days we would visit our alley with Jaemin, Jeno and Renjun too.

The fun we used to have down there was unimaginable with someone else but them. I could still hear the music that echoed through the streets sometimes so late in the night that we'd end up being chased by cops. I remembered all of their voices so vividly, as if it was yesterday the last time I got drunk down there, dancing endlessly with the red haired girl with nothing but our underwear on us. I smiled. I didn't know nostalgia could hit like it hit me now.

"Soji!" Jennie's voice reached me from inside. "Pizza's here!"

I finally took the black sunglasses off of my face. I've been wearing them all day paired with the black cap that was supposed to cover as much of my appearance as possible. I even put dark make up on, black lipstick hard eyeliner and eye crayon to make me appear less of the Soji on the missing person posters. I desperately prayed that no one noticed my fake ID with a different name on it.

I wiped it all off and washed my face, finally feeling a lot more comfortable in my own skin. I tied my hair in a loose bun and finally sat down on the couch to have some of that pizza.

"Okay, so I gathered us a bunch of people for the work. A bunch of hackers beside myself too." Sunwoo started, munching on a piece of pizza.

"Good." Jennie nodded. "That means we only need to get to The Underground Meeting Room and gather as much information for him as we can afford. Soji," She glanced at me with her serious focused look. "that's your job."

I nodded. "NCT will be informed that I've returned right away, you know..." I mentioned. Not that they weren't all aware of that.

"Minhyuk should've known about that when he sent you off." Jennie rolled her eyes.
