CHAPTER 70
—————

Haechan jumped from the armchair. The look on his face dark and murderous and fingers tightly wrapped around the gun. He wasn't going to let the girl ruin everything. Not now when they've gotten so far. They were a few hours away from getting rid of Minhyuk and Soojin wasn't going to stop them. Not on his watch.

In a matter of seconds after Mark mouthed the words: "Guys, she doesn't have plans for tonight...", everyone were on their feet. Soji was almost having a panic attack, holding the panic in as hard as she could while maintaining her expression as cold as possible.

They all knew what was Soojin about to do. They could read it on her face, she was never up for their plan, nor willing to let them get on with it. She didn't have a specific reason to be on their side. But she was the type to climb up the ranks between The Vipers by helping her leader and betraying her friends.

But this time, Haechan was more than willing to kill her if that was the only way to stop her. And everyone in the room could see that as he headed towards the door with the deadliest look on his face they've seen him wear so far. Even Soji, that knew him for so many years now wasn't sure trying to stop him would be a good idea.

Eunwoo ran after him, grabbing his arm and taking the gun out of his hand, accepting the dead glares Haechan was digging through his black eyes. "Let me take care of her. She won't cause any trouble." Oddly enough, Haechan nodded after a moment of pause, leaving it up to Eunwoo to stop her. He knew, Eunwoo would find a better solution than killing her too.

"Mark, come with me. The rest, set the explosives. Once we're done. Pack anything you wish to take from this mansion and we're leaving."

Eunwoo rushed outside, catching up with Soojin just in time as Minhyuk picked up her call. "Soojin? What the fuck is so important as to terminate my fucking date?!"

"U-uh..." Soojin stuttered, feeling the cold metal of the gun, on her exposed neck.

Eunwoo held her still, holding the gun while Mark unarmed her, standing in front of her, so she'd watch as he emptied her gun. The bullets falling one by one in the grass.

She was aware that Eunwoo was probably the most rational amongst the gang, so defying him, as sweet and nice as he seemed, would lead to her death. Besides, her life meant a lot more to her than living up to Minhyuk's expectations. So she brainstormed a lie, good enough to get away with what she's just started.

"What is it Soojin?!" Minhyuk repeated himself, snapping her back to reality, so she'd start talking.

"Ah.. I just-" the girl gulped, her lips drying in a rapid speed under the pressure of the gun, squeezed hard enough to her skin, that it hurt. "I-I just talked to that Kim guy you mentioned. He's- umm.. in a rush so I have to give him an answer tomorrow morning. I-I wanted to tell you that I e-mailed you the details, so you'd umm read his terms and conditions and give me an answer as soon as possible." Soojin bit her lip, expecting his yelling for interrupting his date because of something as meaningful as that. When in fact she was calling for a lot more important cause.
