Dating Headcanons!

Isabela:

She gives you bouquets ALL THE DAMN TIME

Like a shocking amount

Before she explored her abilities it was mostly roses, peonies, etc.

Afterward she gives you more exotic flowers & plants, like cacti and other things for your room

When you're in private, she turns into the biggest dorky goofball and it's adorable

Like, she'll randomly tickle you or talk in a silly voice sometimes

Whenever you kiss her, she always grows some sort of plant on her head from shyness

At first, she would get completely covered in them, but now it's usually just two or three

You were the first person she opened up to about feeling pressured to be perfect, and when you accepted her completely, she gave you a giant hug and cried a little

Y'all are known for being the #1 couple in the Encanto

Dolores:

Listen, you can't say anything bad about her or she'll know, obviously

But it's a damn good thing you don't want to

You randomly gush to anyone who'll listen about how great your girlfriend is, like 'oh my God have you seen my girlfriend she's so amazing I love her', and she hears it and smiles to herself

Knowing this, you make sure to yell across the town that you love her—which scares the people near you

She, in turn, makes sure to tell you how much she loves you whenever the opportunity presents itself

She doesn't want to feel like she's not putting enough effort into your relationship, which she IS

Sometimes everything is too loud for her, and she has a nervous breakdown, but you're right there beside her to help

She appreciates how much you listen to her

Luisa

Okay this woman   l o v e s   to hug you but is afraid to do it 'cause she doesn't want to accidentally hurt you

You assure her that she has nothing to worry about, because come on, her hugs are the best

You have no problem running up behind her for a surprise piggyback ride

She happily complies every time

You being smaller than her, she watches you anxiously to be sure you don't hurt yourself in any way

It makes you feel a little weird sometimes, but it definitely lessened after the casita was fixed

Before that, you tried telling her that she needs to rest

She doesn't listen to that

Every break, though, is spent with you—it's the number one priority for her

Mirabel:

Y'all were besties before you started dating, that's just a fact

When you did date, the first thing she did was design you a 'Mirabel special' outfit, complete with butterflies everywhere

You wear it all the time

You two cuddle a l o t, and she loves it when you play with her hair

The first time you did it, she practically melted

You picked up a little habit of taking her glasses to make fun of her eyesight(Joke's on you if you end up needing glasses, though)

She's always telling you how cute you are, and persists even more if you deny it

At this point, you've given up on self-deprecating talk, because she'll appear out of nowhere to whoop your ass

Camilo:

He likes to turn into you just to make "you" say cheesy romantic things about him all the time

At first it was super annoying

Now, it's still annoying, but you love him, so it's no biggie

He may not act like it (for fear of hurting his pride) but he's a very touchy-feely person

Whenever you two are working side-by-side, he'll play with your hair a little, or squeeze your hand, and then he pretends he never did

Once, he forgot what he looked like after a long day of shapeshifting, and almost had an anxiety attack, but he turned into you, and it helped him through it

He's always begging for your attention one way or another, even going to the extreme of laying in your lap

Which was great, because it gives you the chance to count his freckles

It flusters him to the point of random shapeshifting

At any rate, he's always trying to make you laugh, or at least not feel sad

He's also a dancer and tries to rope you in sometimes too

Bruno

Let's be honest, this man is a giant ball of nerves around you—even more than usual

He wanted to ask you out, but couldn't gather the courage to, so he looked into the future to see if you would like him

When he saw things worked out for you two, it solidified his resolve and he managed to confess to you

It was very awkward, but sweet at the same time

You were the only person he told about leaving

Or rather, he left a note explaining why he left

After he returns, he never leaves your side because he feels so horrible about leaving the first time

He's pretty much attached to you at the hip now

Which is just fine with you, but it can be a little much sometimes

You told him this, and he apologized so. Many. Times.

He always has to be 100% certain you know he loves you, so he does his best in many ways

Which means you have to reassure him that no, you don't hate him for leaving, you're just happy he's back

It's a bit of a challenge, but you two make it work
