George POV.

I stumbled down the stairs and into the small headquarters that Techno, Bad, Karl, and I used as our ‘home base’ whenever we were doing hero work. The entire place was quiet except for the sounds of the tv coming from our lounge space, which was added for us when we have nothing good to do and are on watch duty.

Karl was laying on the couch with a bowl of popcorn resting under his left arm, which he was occasionally grabbing handfuls out of to eat. He didn’t notice I was there until the door I had entered slammed shut behind me, which was cue for him to look over his shoulder and watch me hobble over to the armoury.

“George. You’re back earlier than I thought.” He said as he jumped up off of the couch and walked over to me, leaving his tv show to keep playing, with his bandaged arm from a previous fight he had with a smaller crook. “Usually Techno makes us all hang around for an hour to help police interview witnesses and what not.”

“Yeah, well he sent me home.” I responded, still feeling grumpy at how he called me off from chasing Skeppy.
“Did you get hurt or something?” The taller brunette asked curiously, but I didn’t answer as I continued walking while trying to ignore the pain in my shoulder.

Karl sighed before the air in front of me was contorted and he appeared in front of me. “Answer me,” the teleporter instructed, before helping me take off my goggles so he could see my eyes.
“Fine, I got hurt.” I informed him. “One of Skeppy’s goons sent me flying into the wall and now my shoulder fucking hurts.”

“Can I see it?” He asked, walking around me completely to try and get a look at my back, despite the fact my supersuit covered most of my body.
“Sure, if you help me get my suit off then you can gawk at my wound for the rest of the day.” I responded sarcastically, making Karl chuckle.

He grabbed my arm and then suddenly I felt myself being twisted in a way that human bodies shouldn’t possibly be able to move. My vision stretched before instantly returning to normal as we teleported into the armoury. It felt like my organs and bones were back in place and I managed to let out a few shaky breaths at the thrill.

“Stop doing that Karl.” I instructed once I had calmed myself. “It makes me feel like a fucking rubber band.”
“Don’t worry Gogy, you’ll get used to it after ten or so times.” Karl responded as I sat down on a bench which was in front of the four casings, one for each suit.

Having a teleporter like Karl was quite useful, it meant we didn’t have to do as much work like carrying piles of groceries or having to take an ambulance to the hospital. The only weakness he had was steel, it was quite pathetic but he couldn’t teleport out of things made of any type of steel. Similar to how my electricity didn’t affect anyone wearing elastic.

Obviously the casing was almost completely empty, with Techno and Bad and I all wearing our suits, but Karl’s was standing in place with a bright light illuminating it dramatically. His suit was made of an expensive heat-resistant and strong synthetic fibre, just like the rest of our suits.

He was dressed in purple and black, which covered his entire body besides his head because he didn’t have a problem with his identity, after all he worked for one of the biggest businessmen in the city who helps us a lot with buying stuff. He fights with a sword that is a dark purple and black which matches his suit.

My suit was almost entirely blue, and just like Karl’s it covered almost my entire body besides my face. The only colours besides blue were some white details along my torso, and a red and white crest on my chest.

My gloves were black and I could send jolts of electricity, which is one of my most common attacks and can stun people I fight, or worse. I also had my escrima sticks but they were a lot less powerful. There was also my goggles which managed to conceal my identity and could be used like the glasses from the Spiderman movie which Karl was a big fan of.

Speaking of the brunette, he took my arms and instructed me to stand up before he began helping me pull my suit off. He took off the gloves, followed by the chestpiece, then the tight padded pants which were also made of the synthetic fibre. A chill ran over my body as I was pulled out of the uniform which kept my body at a nice warm temperature.

Since the suit was taken off I was just left with a white t-shirt and some jeans, which is what I had been wearing when I suited up. I was about to walk over to the drawers where me and the other heroes kept our civilian clothes but was stopped by Karl who beckoned for me to turn around.

With a grumble I did as he said turned around, before feeling Karl pull my shirt up so he could see my back. Even though I couldn’t see him I could sense him cringing. “Does it really look that bad?” I asked, glancing over my shoulder at my best friend.

“How the honk are you not screaming out in pain right now?” He questioned as he fought the urge to touch the purple bruise which seemed to be swelling, and I just shrugged.
“We need to go see Phil now.” Karl stated.

Philza was Techno’s father, and pretty much a father figure to Karl, Bad, and I too. He pretty much ran this place when we were away at our own works or saving the city.
I was going to leave the room to go find him but was stopped when Karl grabbed my arm again and I had the stretched reality feeling making me nauseous.

When I came back to my senses we were in our small medbay, and once Karl let go of me, he gave me a small smile. “I am going to get Philza. Stay here,” Karl instructed, before disappearing again. I stared in confusion at where he had just been before feeling my lunch reappearing in my throat.

I stumbled for a few moments before falling over in front of a waste bin and threw up in it. I barely even noticed Philza and Karl coming into the room behind me.
“Holy shit George are you okay?” Philza asked as he ran over to me and I managed to stand up.

“He got badly hurt.” Karl explained when I didn’t answer. “One of his shoulders is starting to swell up and Techno sent him back here.”
“Why is he vomiting though?” The blonde asked, and I stood up before answering.

“Because Karl’s teleportation is the worst power ever.” I responded before going to grab a glass of water.
Philza nodded at the explanation. “Now as much as I find Karl’s teleportation to be annoying too at times, we’ll talk about that later, first I’ll check out the shoulder injury.”

He beckoned for me to sit down on one of the medical cots and I did so, before taking my shirt off so he could see the injury. Phil didn’t let out any noises of disgust or confusion, because I know he’s seen stuff like this a lot.

“This does look pretty bad George,” he stated. “I can bandage it but you should not be using your powers for a couple of weeks, so no fighting crime.” Philza instructed as he began getting ointments and bandages for my wound. “...oh and you can take a couple of weeks off from work too,” he added, which made me groan out in annoyance.
