Sapnap POV.

“George,” Karl whimpered, seeming worried and the brunette turned his attention away from me. I watched as they pulled each other into a hug. “What if Phil never realises that this is a mistake? What if he thinks that I really am a bad guy?” I figured this Phil guy was the person who had always been helping the heroes that we were never able to identify but I said nothing.

“He won’t.” 404… I mean George responded. “He knows you are a hero, once this is over I will help you prove to Philza that you are innocent, okay?”
“Once this is over?” I asked, but George and Karl didn’t break eye contact to tell me what that meant.

The teleporter sat up slightly, the worry in his expression becoming more apparent. “But what if this is never over? What if I never get the chance to go back?”
“You want to go back?” I asked Karl, feeling hurt since I thought that he’d want to stay with me at least. The look Karl gave me made it clear he wasn’t sure whether he meant it or not.

George however seemed to clearly not want the brunette to stay around me. He stood up and glared at me before turning to his best friend. “I need to go back to my room before Dream realises that I have gone,” he muttered before walking out. The door shut as he left but I was still sad.

In an instant Karl teleported over to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulders, pulling me into a hug. “You want to go back?” I repeated quietly, my brows furrowing in question.
“I don’t know,” he murmured. “I want to see my friends again, I want them to know that I am not a bad guy but… I also don’t want to lose you.”

He let out a sigh before teleporting again pulling me with him and in a quick flash we had moved to be standing, with our arms wrapped around each other on top of a building. I didn’t know where exactly but I watched as Karl let go of me and walked over to the edge of the roof, before sitting down with his legs dangling over the side.

I slowly walked over so I was standing behind him, watching as he stared towards a brick building with a sad look. “Is there nothing we can do?” I asked him as I knelt down and wrapped my arms back around him. “When you and George accomplish whatever goals you have, are you two going to leave?”

Part of me was expecting this, even though George had just said ‘once this was over’ which made me certain that he and Karl were doing undercover work. It made me worry what they were doing, why they were doing it, and what their end goal was.

But more of me was wondering what would happen to Karl if they decided to go back. It was still early in the morning and people were walking several stories below us on their way to wherever they needed to be at this time in the morning.

Karl was staring down at them, his eyes darting between people and I could sense he felt an urge to protect them, but the expression he had on was one that was of annoyance, or possible disgust. As Karl stared at what was beneath him quietly. I couldn’t help but wonder what was going through his head at the moment.

Wilbur POV.

My face was contorted into an expression of annoyance, although it could have possibly been an expression of disgust as I slunk around outside the cage. Inside, Foolish worked on what was beneath him quietly. I couldn’t help but wonder what was going through his head at the moment.

Sure I was an expert when it came to explosions, probably more so than the Physicist was at the very least. I mean he had more than enough skills to make weapons which could make him rich, instead he worked for a stuck up billionaire who had him slaving away making medicines which I had never actually seen used.

This was just so I got the chance to relax a little, after all I hadn’t been back in L’manburg for years so the least I could do was go and have a look around. I could see the sights, do research on the people living here, and visit some family. Since I didn’t have to focus on sorting uranium and lithium deuteride and plutonium I got more time to relax.

In fact the only person in the room who wasn’t relaxing was the man who was working on the bomb. Punz was scrolling through his phone, some of Dream’s other henchmen were playing cards on a table in the corner, and I was about to go out into the city to go sightseeing.

Once I walked out of the room after giving a wide smile to Punz and the other henchmen, I took the car that I had been lent and drove to where I knew my first stop was. When I parked the car and got out I smiled around at the people walking past, none of whom recognised me. Without a moment of hesitation I walked into the building opposite where I was parked.

It was the library, and I walked up the stairs to the front door before entering the quiet building. There were a lot of people around, most of which seemed like students who attended the university just up the road from here. None of them paid attention to me since they didn’t know who I was.

A couple of the older people in the library though, especially parents and grandparents with young children would pull their kids closer to them. There was a smirk on my face as I made eye contact with each citizen that reacted but I didn’t care, instead I kept walking past rows of bookshelves until I saw the person I was looking for.

When I spotted a family member who I hadn’t seen in ages I began walking over to him, my smirk growing as I walked over and put my hand on his shoulder and felt him tense up. “Hello Techno,” I greeted in a playful voice. “It’s good to see you again brother.”
