Jean's Point of View

Jean sat at her desk on the 99th floor of Mojang Headquarters. She was exhausted from staying up all night, but she couldn't sleep. The fact that Steve had evaded both the Skeletons and the Spiders was impossible. Yet, he managed to do it.

Her face fell forward and slammed into the desk. This woke her up. Then she heard her MineTablet buzz. She checked it.

It was a message from Notch. It said, "Please check on the progress of the monster trainers. Thanks! :)"

Jean shook her head and clicked a few things on her redstone powered computer. She found the security footage of floor 21. She clicked on the footage from the last 24 hours.

A man slowly walked up to a Creeper. He had leather armor and an iron helmet in his hands, with the word Mojang freshly painted on it.

The Creeper stared at the man, unmoving. This was a good sign.

"Nice Creeper," the man whispered. It was clear he was terrified.

When he was a few inches away from the Creeper, he placed the helmet on its head. For a few seconds, it did nothing. The man let out a relieved sigh.

Then the Creeper blew up, sending the man flying backwards. Luckily, the room was made of bedrock, or they would have to make repairs on it every day.

Jean looked through the rest of the Creeper, footage, and it was all basically the same stuff. Creepers exploding, men dying. They were making almost no progress with the Creepers.

Then Jean flipped to the footage of floor 22. She watched it.

A man was slowly walking up to an Enderman. He had a pumpkin on his head so he could look at it. He also had an iron helmet in his hands.

A few inches away from the Enderman, the man reached up to place the helmet on its head. He had to stand on his tippy toes. When he did, the pumpkin slid off his head.

The Enderman went ballistic. It attacked the man, throwing him against the wall. Then it teleported in front of the security camera and shrieked at it, looking right into Jean's eyes.

Jean lurched back, then remembered this footage was from seven hours ago. They were making no progress with the Endermen either.

Jean was about to check on the Cave Spider progress when a commotion outside her window made her look out.

One of their helicopters was flying towards the landing pad. The Slime patrol was back.

Took them long enough, Jean thought. They would take the Slimes to floor 25, and do experiments on them too, after they used Herobrine's technology to make them obey.

Jean went back to checking on the progress of the monsters. Both the Cave Spiders and the Silverfish were obeying, so that was a good sign. The Witches were still putting up a fight, but they were slowly making progress.

Jean messaged Notch back, saying, "Cave Spiders and Silverfish obeying. Creepers and Endermen, not so much. Witches are coming along. Slime patrol is back with the Slimes"

While waiting for a reply, Jean checked the status of the cities. Since the Sectors were laid out in a grid, all the Sectors surrounding Mojang Headquarters were big cities, nothing like the tiny villages like Harville was. Sectors 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 30, 31, and 32 were all big cities.

Recently, the Mojang Resistance had attacked Sectors 24 and 25, taking all the food. Now those two cities were on food shortages.

The Mojang Resistance was a group of rebels that started about a year ago. They somehow had found out about Mojang's evil plans, and were now intent on stopping them.

Steve himself was the leader of the Resistance, and they staged an attack on Mojang HQ last week. They almost succeeded, but Notch's quick thinking stopped them. Mojang then captured Steve, erased his memories, and put him out in Sector 36, a remote little plains area.

Of course, Harville also happened to be out in Sector 36, and when Mojang attacked there, Steve had seen it. Now he knew about Mojang, and presumably, was coming for them. Both the Spiders and Skeletons had failed to stop him.

Anyway, both Sectors 24 and 25 were in turmoil. Many citizens had died of starvation, and crime was breaking out. People who did have food were getting robbed and murdered. The cities were a mess.

The raids on these cities was a surprising move for the Resistance, Jean had to admit. Usually, they were goodie goodies who didn't want to hurt any civilians. Now, they were ruthlessly stealing food from them. Plus, their leader was gone, so Jean assumed they would be quiet for awhile.

Jean ordered for another shipment of cooked steak to be sent to both Sectors. She picked up her MineTablet again, and reread her conversation with Notch from the day before.

"I've ordered for wanted posters to be sent to Jeb. :)" Notch had messaged.

"Why is that?" Jean had asked.

"Why, to give to his bounty hunters, of course! :)" Notch had replied.

"I thought you hated Jeb. He left Mojang for his filthy bounty hunting." Jean had messaged back.

"Of course I hate him! He betrayed me! But he can still help me in this case! He'll send his bounty hunters after Steve, and we won't have to waste any more monsters on him! :)" Notch had responded.

"Oh okay. Smart as always, Notch." Jean had said.

"Thanks! :)" Notch had said back.

Jean put down the MineTablet and stared out the window. A long time ago, before Jean had joined Mojang, Jeb used to work with Notch. They were like brothers. Jeb had helped defeat Herobrine, but most people believed he died when he was injured very badly. But he recovered, and helped lead Mojang.

But after a few months, Notch and Jeb got into a fight about who knows what. So Jeb decided to leave Mojang and start bounty hunting. Forever after that, Notch hated him.

Now Jeb is the head of a criminal bounty hunting ring in Sector 30. But he wasn't able to stay young like Notch. Jeb was now seventy years old.

Jean's MineTablet buzzed again. She picked it up. Notch had responded.

"Great, great! And how about the Nether patrol? :)" he asked.

Jean checked the surveillance of the Nether portal room. She looked at the footage from last night.

Eight men, all in full enchanted iron armor, charged into the purple Nether portal. They had iron swords and tranquilizers raised.

Jean fast forwarded the footage. A few hours later, six men returned, all dragging limp Nether monsters behind them.

That's right. Mojang was going to take control of the Nether.
