soobin's heart quickened as he fished through a drawer, searching for the key ring that held the keys to each bedroom. beomgyu hadn't come out and it was now 1am, and soobin was beyond panicked.

he would've gone in sooner, but didn't want to disturb the younger if he was sleeping.

now, he didn't care. he had to make sure beomgyu wasn't dead.

he yanked a key ring out and immediately sprinted towards the steps, practically running up them as he reached beomgyu's door.

soobin's anxiety lessened upon seeing the snacks gone, as that had meant beomgyu had at least opened his door to take them.

"beomgyu? you okay in there?" soobin called, leaning his cheek against the door as he awaited a reply. he could hear what seemed like panicked shuffling, and then came the voice.

"yeah.. is everything okay?" beomgyu's voice was muffled due to the door between them, but soobin sighed heavily in relief just from hearing that he was alive.

"yes.. yeah, just needed to check on my best friend. is that okay?" soobin tried to joke, but he could hear the sadness in his own voice. he heard more shuffling from inside the room, and soon the small amount of light peeking from underneath the door frame was shadowed.

the lock clicked, and to soobin's relief, the door slightly opened to reveal none other than beomgyu. the boy had a hoodie on, the hood flipped up to almost conceal his entire face, and what wasn't covered by the hood, was covered by his messy hair.

soobin glanced at the hoodie once again and a small smile formed on his face, realizing it was yeonjun's. he assumed the younger had kept it from when he slept over at yeonjun's one of the times.

despite being 1 in the morning, almost every light in beomgyu's room was on, which only saddened soobin's heart more.

"can i come in..?" soobin asked gently, allowing the boy to peek at him from the 2-inch wide crack in the door. beomgyu looked up at him, and for a moment he regretted even opening the door.

but then he realized that this was soobin, someone who had never ever judged him, and always been there for him.

and so without another moment of hesitation, beomgyu had swung the door open completely, revealing himself to soobin.

while beomgyu had been sitting up in his room, he had spotted yeonjun's hoodie resting on a chair. he had picked it up and the milk and honey scent had washed over him, and oddly calmed him down immediately. so he had slipped the fabric over his head and sat on his bed, staring down at his sheets for what seemed like hours.

until the knock at the door had made him physically jump, and he worried about who could see him like this.

so vulnerable.

"you okay?" soobin asked again, his tone much softer than before, as now he could see the younger was safe.

he could also see the pooling tears in beomgyu's eyes as the younger looked up at him, bottom lip quivering. soobin's eyes widened and immediately he rushed forwards, engulfing beomgyu into a tight hug.

beomgyu accepted it immediately, his face crashing into soobin's chest as the wretched tears streamed down his face for what felt like the hundredth time in the last two days. soobin just held him, letting beomgyu silently cry into his chest.

after a few moments, beomgyu pulled away and looked up at the older, his eyelashes clumped together as he forced away the tears.

"wanna talk about it?" soobin whispered, and surprisingly, beomgyu nodded. the older quietly shut the door, as if to provide comfort to the boy.
