|Logan's POV|

My dad has been in a mood since everything went down with his car earlier in the week. He's all smiles for my mom and sisters, but with me, it's like he wants to take my head off.

"Logan!"

I jumped up out of my sleep hearing someone yelling my name. I threw on my shorts and a shirt and headed downstairs. I saw Uncle Zach standing with my dad. I couldn't help but smile.

"Good morning, dad. Hey, Uncle Zach."

He nodded.

"Go get ready for the day, we need to talk," my dad stated.

I ran back upstairs to my room. I jumped in the shower and got dressed. Heading downstairs, I noticed it was just the three of us. My mom must've...

"Hey, Zachy."

My mom entered the kitchen and hugged my uncle. She moved to my dad next, kissing him. Okay, what's going on? I cleared my throat to get their attention.

"Morning sweetie," my mom said.

"Morning, mom. Uh, what's going on?"

She looked at me confused.

"What do you mean what's going on?"

"Why is Uncle Zach here?"

"You're coming with me back to Florida," my uncle stated.

I couldn't help but smile.

"Really? I get to go?"

My mom nodded.

"You do."

I looked over at my dad.

"Dad..."

"Yes, Logan?"

"I really get to go train in Florida."

"Your mother just said yes, didn't she?"

"Yeah, but I know you're still mad at me."

"Mm hmm."

"I said I was sorry."

"I don't care, Logan. Apologies mean nothing when you turn around and do something that you said you wouldn't do. You've been pushing the limits lately and testing my patience. You know, going off the cuff and pulling stunts like you do is one thing. It's the disrespect once you're caught that irks my nerves more than anything."

I just stared at him. Looking over at my uncle, he didn't look too pleased.

"Putting that aside, your conditioning is important. We've spoken to your uncle and feel that going to Florida isn't a bad idea and could be beneficial for your upcoming season," he continued.

I smiled again.

"You can wipe the smile off your face. You will be on a strict schedule. You want to train with me, get your ass in gear," Uncle Zach stated.

I sucked my teeth.

"I'll be fine."

"You think I'm joking? You've never trained with me before. I'm not your uncle when we're out there on the field. I'm not your relative. I'm not your friend. I'm putting you with the best of the best and you have to take all that comes with that. I won't be saving you. You asked me to train you so just know, I'm not going easy on you. You have to put in the work. You're going to be sore. You're going to be exhausted. You're going to want to quit. You're going to have to fight through all of that. Let that sink in."

I just stood there. I haven't seen this side of my uncle, but I've been told when he's in football mode, he's a different person.

"When am I leaving?"
