Chatper 68 (The Void)

Ahri POV

BOOOM

Your head turns to the loud explosion just outside the store you were in, glass, concrete, furniture, and even a few limbs flew passed you. You watched as creatures you thought you'd never see again rose out of the hole created from the explosion. Their purple carapace body; their sharp teeth and claws, they hunt and feast on other lifeforms leaving only death and destruction in their wake.

Voidling: SCREEEEEEE-

Without another moment you blast the creatures with magic orbs enveloping them with mana and evaporating them into dust. You turn to the man who was escorting you.

Ahri: start evacuating people. I'll take care of this.

He nods nervously before running off to escort shoppers out through the back entrance. You throw out more orbs, each orb hitting their target.

I need to find Y/n.

Y/n POV

Without a second of hesitation you ran in, spear in hand, you pierced the Void spawn before it could pounce a man, piercing it completely in half.

Random shopper: thank you..!

Y/n: run.

He books it without a second thought, turning your attention back to the front just in inch away a Void spawn was just about to rip into you but an ice arrow struck it square in the head as it hits the ground limp.

Ashe: you need to be careful.

She had a bow in her hand and a quiver at the waist, as she notched three arrows firing them into three separate Void creatures each hitting the ground in an instant.

Y/n: thank you

Ashe: no problem

She continues to support from the rear as her guards both armed with pistols provide extra firepower. You rush straight in stabbing the creatures as you go and save as many people as you can.

Y/n: hurry! Quickly get out of here!

Voidling: SCREEEECH

Y/n: oh no you don't!

You throw your spear just before it pounced onto young woman, your spear pinned it into the wall. You quickly grab the spear and with a quick glance you turn to the young woman.

Y/n: get out of here. NOW.

????: thank you..!

She hurriedly runs towards the exit.

Where the hell did these guys even come from?!?!

As the dust further down the mall clears you see a large hole in the ground with the Void creatures crawling out of it. You turn to Ashe who is about ten yards away.

Y/n: we need to close that hole!

Ashe: not gonna work! They'll just burrow through the rubble again!

Y/n: how do you know that?!

Ashe: because these creatures are from my home country! They're expert diggers so we need to find their nest and wipe out their brood mother and hatchery!

Y/n: so you're saying-

Ashe: we jump down there and exterminate the pests!

As you wiped out all the Void spawn on the surface you stood at the edge of the hole, it was a thirty foot drop and as you jumped down, luckily it seemed vacant at the moment so you ventured deeper into the tunnel. Switching from your spear to your short swords you carefully proceed further in and after what seemed like a few minutes you stopped at the edge of what seemed to look like a bottomless pit.
