Part 54

Steve was driving them all back to the compound when the youngest little started getting fussy and fidgeting in her seat. "What's wrong yelena?" The super soldier asked, looking in the rear view mirror.

“I wan my song.” she pouted, crossing her arms, “Kiddo Wanda is asleep, we don’t wanna wake her. Can you wait till we get back or when she wakes up?” Steve said calmly but the little’s lip started quivering. “No, please don’t cry.”

“Lena here.” Nat smiled, giving the blonde girl her phone, the little giggled when the music began playing. “Okay but put some headphones in please. Here.” Steve smiled, handing them over. “Okay is everyone happy now?”

“I tired.” Nat whined rubbing her eyes. “Then take a nap nat.” Steve suggested making her frown. "I don’t wanna nap, I want mommy.” Nat huffed, folding her arms. “Natasha if you don’t stop you will wake her up and she is really tired, she needs to sleep.”

"Mommy mommy." Natasha whined tapping her shoulder. "Natasha! Stop it right now. Don't make me turn the car around because I will do it."

"Meanie." Natasha sulked. "Hey." Wanda whined, stretching her back, Natasha smiled. "Mommy wake."

"Unfortunately yes. Is my baby misbehaving?" She asked looking behind her. "No." Natasha frowned but yelena nodded, "no I'm not. stupid liar baby!" Natasha yelled, slapping her sister. "You a stupid poser and a baby."

"Alright enough! The next person to say that word is going in timeout. Now both of you apologize to each other." Wanda warned, earning a huff from the two littles.

“Sorry,” the two mumbled before looking out the window, ignoring everyone for the rest of the ride home. The two didn’t stop fighting all day so they were sent to bed early, much to their dismay, after all tired grumpy littles were the last thing everyone needed right now…

“Bubby, you wan watch barney?” Natasha asked, grabbing the remote. “Yeah I gun go get dada too you watch bucky bear?” The boy asked, holding him out, the girl just nodded pulling the teddy to her chest. “Okay i be backs, keep him safes for me.” The boy exclaimed before standing up.

“Natty!” Bucky exclaimed, Natasha turned to see him start to disappear. “Bubby?”

Natasha jolted up in bed, tears rolling down her cheeks. “Mommy!” Natasha cried out hearing the door opening, “Hey nat, did you have a nightmare?” The blonde supersoldier asked, making her nod. “Oh I’m sorry, your mommy’s watching a movie with the others. Do you want to come with me?”

“Mommy.” Steve nodded, taking her hand. “Hey wanda, the little ones awake.” Wanda stood up, walking over to them and picking her up. “Did you have a nightmare baby?” Wanda asked, making her nod. “I’m sorry babygirl, it’s okay, mommy’s here now. Let’s get you back to bed.” Wanda kissed the littles temple before carrying her back to her room.

“Mommy I need Bucky bear.” Nat whined making the sokovian frown, “baby that’s buckys special bear, you have ted.”

“But I promis bubby i look aftr hims till bubby gets backs.” Nat said quietly, her eyes filling with tears. “Well Steve's been looking after him for Bucky.” Though it wasn’t necessarily for Bucky, Steve had slept with the bear every night since Bucky disappeared and he even found himself changing him into pajamas every night and day clothes every morning because he knew Bucky would’ve done the same if he was still around.

“But I promis mommy, you no can break a promis.” Nat insisted, making her sigh, “well maybe you can ask Steve and just for tonight you can sleep with Bucky bear. But if Steve says no it means no.”

“Okays.” Nat smiled knowing Steve struggled with saying no, especially when she pulled out the fake tears. “Stevie!” Nat shouted running out the room.

“Hey natty, are you okay?” The soldier asked, turning around, “no.” She pouted, the soldier frowned, “what’s wrong?”

“Can I borrow Bucky bear? Just for today’s?” She asked, pulling the cutest face she could. “Why do you want his bear?” Steve asked with a small frown, the girl looked down at the floor. “I tell hims i would look after him and i dont wanna break a promis and i miss him.”

“I miss him too, and we can’t have you breaking a promise so if you take care of him you can.” Steve sighed leaving to go get the bear, before reluctantly handing him over. “Thanks uncle stee.” Nat smiled, running to find her mommy again.

“Okay, you got him, now it’s time to go back to bed baby.” Wanda insisted, lifting the little one into her arms. “Okay mommy.”

Steve sighed heading to the training room knowing he wasn't going to be able to sleep without that bear.
