[Third person POV]

Seungcheol had been sitting in his room, enjoying a rare moment of peace and quiet.

He had just settled down with a good book when he heard Chan yelling.

"DAD!"

His heart racing, Seungcheol immediately dropped his book and leaped out of bed, racing down the stairs to the living room.

He had no idea what could have happened to Chan, but the fear of the worst possibilities consumed him.

As he reached the living room, Seungcheol saw Chan sitting on the floor by the couch.

The relief that washed over him was palpable, but he couldn't help feeling a bit annoyed.

"Chan! What's wrong?! What happened?!" Seungcheol panted, out of breath from running.

"Oh nothing, I just wanted to ask you if Vernon can come over again," Chan replied nonchalantly.

Seungcheol put his hands on his hips, still catching his breath.

"Channie, you scared me half to death! Don't shout like that unless it's an emergency," Seungcheol said, trying to keep his voice calm.

Chan stood up and apologized.

"Wait- so why were you on the floor then?" Seungcheol asked in confusion.

"Cus I was playing with Kkuma but then she ran off."

Coincidentally, Kkuma ran back to Chan, barking excitedly.

Seungcheol couldn't help but smile at the sight of his "son" and their furry companion.

He was glad that everything was okay, but he still couldn't shake the feeling of annoyance at Chan's unnecessary outburst.

"Next time, just come find me calmly, okay?"

Chan nodded eagerly.

"Okay, Cheol, I promise I won't scare you like that again," Chan said, looking up at Seungcheol with his big, innocent eyes.

Seungcheol couldn't help but melt at the sight of his "son"'s earnest expression.

"Good. Now, let's go grab a snack before Vernon comes over," Seungcheol said, leading the way to the kitchen.

As they walked, Seungcheol couldn't help but think about how much he loved his little family.

- Time skip -

Seungcheol, Chan and Kkuma are now sitting in the living room, watching TV.

The TV show was providing the perfect background noise as the trio lounged on the couch.

Suddenly, Chan broke the silence with a question that caught Seungcheol off guard.

"Hey, dad. Can Vernon bring someone over with him?"

Seungcheol turned his head to look at Chan, eyebrows raised in curiosity.

"Who?" he asked, not expecting anyone else to be coming over.

"His new boyfriend," Chan replied with a slightly mocking tone.

Seungcheol's face softened, "boyfriend? Wait, so he told you about his relationship?" Seungcheol asked, recalling the time Chan had called him about the news.

"Yup, apparently they've been a thing for a couple of months now."

Seungcheol smiled, "that's great, Chan. I'm really glad that Vernon felt comfortable enough to share this with you," Seungcheol said, his attention back to the show they were watching.

"Sooo is it ok if he comes over?"

"Of course, Vernon's boyfriend can come over. But no more people, okay?" Seungcheol said, assertively.

Chan nodded, satisfied with the answer.

As they continued watching, the sound of the doorbell ringing broke their concentration, and Chan quickly got up, placing Kkuma aside to answer the door.

Kkuma followed him eagerly, wagging her tail.

"Vernon, my man," Chan said, giving his friend a warm greeting and their signature handshake.

Kkuma, recognizing Vernon, was thrilled to see him and couldn't contain her excitement, started barking.

But as Chan stepped aside to let Vernon and his partner in, Seungcheol's expression turned to one of utter disbelief.

"Seungkwan?!" he exclaimed, his voice rising with surprise.

Seungkwan, Campfire Cafe's main barista is Chan's friend's boyfriend?!

Seungcheol couldn't believe that the person he had seen so many times behind the coffee bar was now standing in his living room.

"Hey, Seungcheol! I didn't know you knew Vernon and Chan," Seungkwan said, a smile on his face.

Still in shock, Seungcheol said, "I had no idea you were Chan's friend's boyfriend."

Seungkwan laughed. "It's a small world, isn't it?" he said.

Chan, seeing the confusion on his dad's face, tried not to laugh.

"Well, welcome to our humble abode," he said, gesturing towards the living room. "Make yourselves comfortable."

As the group settled back onto the couch, Kkuma jumped onto Seungkwan's lap, happy to have another friend.

As the three friends were watching tv and talking, Seungcheol excused himself and went to his room.

Seungcheol sat on his bed, continuing to read the book he put down a while ago. But he couldn't focus all that much as he couldn't help but think about what just happened.

He felt a newfound sense of connection to him and his friends' coffee routine.
