[Third person POV]

It's 6pm.

It's the day before Soonyoung's pool party.

How does Mingyu know this?

Cus of Vernon.

After receiving an invitation from Seungkwan to be his plus one, Vernon wasted no time in sharing the news with Mingyu.

The two friends found themselves at the local skatepark, taking a break and sitting on a worn-out bench.

"You really think I should do that at the party? Isn't it a bit harsh, don't you think?" Asked Vernon, his voice filled with uncertainty.

Mingyu let out a weary sigh and leaned back against the bench, taking a sip from his water bottle. His eyes focused on the horizon, lost in thought for a moment.

"Look, Vernon, you've been putting it off for a month now. It's time to man up," Mingyu replied.

Vernon's head dropped, and he absentmindedly scratched his head.

"You were the one who said you wanted to end things," Mingyu continued, his gaze fixed on Vernon. "Remember why you made that decision in the first place."

Vernon let out a sigh. "I know, but I just... it's harder than I thought."

Mingyu leaned in closer, placing a reassuring hand on his friend's back. "I've never seen you so affected by anything before. It's clear you have deep feelings for him, don't you?"

Vernon nodded. "I do, really... But keeping this lie going has been eating me alive. I can't just keep on lying to him like this... but I don't have the courage to tell him the truth."

Mingyu ruffled Vernon's hair affectionately, his voice filled with sincerity. "Vernon, cherish him. I can tell he means a lot to you."

Vernon met Mingyu's gaze, his eyes searching for reassurance. "But, Mingyu, he deserves someone better than me..."

Mingyu's brows furrowed slightly. "Vernon, don't make the same mistake I did. Don't let self-doubt ruin something beautiful. I messed up, and I don't want you to lose someone so important to you, just like I did."

Mingyu's voice quivering, his eyes glistening with unshed tears, as he struggled to keep his emotions in check.

"Don't worry, Mingyu," Vernon said. "We'll go visit Wonwoo next week, okay? We'll figure things out together."

Tears cascaded down Mingyu's cheeks, his anguish breaking through his fragile composure. "Last time, he couldn't even look me in the eyes, Vernon! He hates me... He's in jail because of me!"

Vernon pulled Mingyu into a tight hug, offering support as his friend's tears dampened his shoulder. The weight of their shared pain and regret pressed upon them.

[Seungcheol's POV]

The hours slipped away as I sat at my desk in the office, engrossed in the details of a summer launch later this month.

However, my mind couldn't help but wander to Soonyoung's pool party.

The thought of it is making it difficult to concentrate on the task at hand.

I had been meaning to ask Jeonghan to be my plus one, but for some inexplicable reason, nervousness had taken hold of me.

It seemed like such a simple thing to do, and yet my heart raced every time I thought about it.

Would he say yes? Or would he have other plans?

The uncertainty gnawed at me, casting a shadow over my work.

Glancing at my phone, I checked the time.

It read 6:45 PM.

With a heavy sigh, I made the decision to call it a day.

I had already texted Chan earlier, letting him know that I would be coming home late, but he hadn't responded yet.

He has exams, so it was likely that he was caught up in his studies.

Gathering my belongings and shutting down my computer, I left my office, locking the door behind me.

Stepping out into the cool evening air, I walked towards the parking lot where my car was parked.

The sky was painted with hues of orange and pink as the sun began its descent, casting a warm glow over the city.

Just as I reached my car, my phone buzzed in my pocket.

I took it out of my pocket and saw Jeonghan's name flashing on the screen.

"Jeonghan?"

"Cheolie~ Kwanie told me that you two were invited to a pool party tomorrow."

A mix of relief and excitement washed over me as I heard Jeonghan mention the party.

Soonyoung's party was still on my mind, and now it seemed that fate had intervened to bring Jeonghan into the equation.

"Yeah, it's at 1pm, tomorrow" I replied, then paused for a moment. "Would you like to be my plus one, Jeonghan?"

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line, and I held my breath, waiting for Jeonghan's response.

A soft chuckle escaped Jeonghan's lips. "Of course, Cheolie. I'd be more than happy to be your plus one."

Relief flooded through me and I couldn't help but smile.

The pool party suddenly held even more promise and excitement, knowing that I would be attending it with someone as special as Jeonghan by my side.

As I settled into my car, a renewed sense of enthusiasm filled my heart. The day's work was forgotten, replaced by the anticipation.

With the summer launch momentarily put on hold, I started the engine and drove home, looking forward to tomorrow.
