We had taken a little vacation. We needed to get away from everything. We had rented a house in Big Bear. It was quiet and peaceful. I made up a fire and we grilled marshmallows.
Jack played on his guitar. Esme lay her head on Emily's shoulder and she smiled. We talked and laughed. I love my children so much.

"We really needed this." I said. "I agree." replied Esme. Jack picked up a small box and tears filled my eyes. He opened the lid and I saw a beautiful diamond ring. "Adam, will you marry me?" he asked. "Yes, yes." I said happily and he smiled. Jack put the ring onto my ring finger. I was so happy. Esme and Emily were happy too.

Our children were asleep. I went out and sat in a chair. I wrapped myself in a blanket and drank a glass of water. Jack sat down next to me and he sipped on his water as well. I looked at my ring and smiled.
