Dani Scott 2022/2023 season - A Leah Williamson story

Viv moves in

It was the day after the Czech Republic game. Me and Beth had travelled back to St Albans this morning. Viv moved in to mine and Beth’s apartment over the national break as she didn’t play because she needed a break. Beth has been excited all week.

We are in the living area just after we get back. Viv must be at training.

Beth said “I can’t wait for her to get home”

I said “I know, it’s all I’ve heard from you all week”

“I can’t help it. This is important to me. She is important to me” Beth said

I replied “I know Beth. I’m glad you found her”

We hear the front door open it must be Viv she’s the only other person with a key. She walks into the living room and runs to Beth and says “I missed you”

Beth said “I missed you too”

I smile at them and leave the room and go to my room.

I lay on my bed, got my phone out of my pocket, found Leah’s number and pressed call.

She answered after just 1 ring she said “Hey baby”

I said “hey, How’s your foot?”’

“I had the results back today. It is broken. I’m going to be out for a couple of months”

“I’m sorry. I know it’s not what you wanted to hear. How’s the pain” I asked

“It’s not too bad. The pain meds help. I’m still in the boot and will be on crutches for a bit” she said

“How’s getting around going” I asked

Leah replied “It’s not ideal right now but that’s the floor of living alone”

“What if I come and stay with you for a bit” I asked

“Do you want to” she asked

“Yeah Le, I would feel better knowing that you have someone around” I said

She said “I would love that”’

I said “Good. I missed you by the way”

She said “I missed you to babe”

“Well, I’m going to pack a bag then I will be over soon” I said

“Ok. I love you” she said

“I love you too beautiful. I’ll see you soon” I said

“bye” she said.

I packed a bag, I put it down in the hallway and went through to the living room. Beth and Viv were cuddled up on the sofa.

I said “Hi Lovebirds”

Beth said “where did you disappear to”

I said “My room. Thought I would give you bit of alone time and I wanted to call Leah”

Viv said “How is she”

“I think she’s masking it but that’s Leah for you isn’t it” I said

“Not really said she’s in pain then” Beth asked

“she said the pain meds are helping. But she’s on her own, she can’t do everything that she needs to so I’m going to go and stay with her for a little bit” I said

Beth said “I think that’s a good idea”

“And besides it will give you a bit of time to help Viv settle in” I winked

Beth said “Yeah. Thanks” I started laughing and so did Viv because she knew I was winding Beth up.

Viv asked “When are you going”

“Now, I’ve packed a bag already” I said

Beth said “Are you that eager to get out of here”

I said “Not to get out of here but to see my girl. Yes, I am”
